Krait Stats from the Livestream

If you lighten it and put a guardian FSD booster into it you could get close to 50LY or maybe even more with a SLF fitted.

It will likely become my go to exploration vessel for now on.

Same here. Great canopy, great internals with an SLF. If that thing can edge 50lyr when trimmed down with a guardian booster, it will replace my ASP most likely.

So, the Python was considered too strong and instead of nerfing it, FDEV created the Krait Mk II.
Should we expect a ship in the coming months that rivals the Anaconda? I'm up for it, at least to have some diversity.

That wouldn't surprise me. We're past-due on long distance exploration ships and there's been talk of having more specialization. Maybe an Exploration variant of the Beluga? Trades in the luxury for jump range?

Pretty excited, not going to lie. It will fit in that price range perfectly with those stats. I love taking the python out occasionally but always wish that I had an SLF. I'm getting something I've wanted for a very long time then, with this ship. And it looks fantastic. I simply cannot wait to skim the surface of planets while looking down. Going to be very fun.

If I were to complain about something, it'd be the jump range. Now I haven't used the ship but based on the stats it's not overly impressive. That makes every 50m ship not have "great" jump range. FDL makes sense as it's a combat ship. But the python and krait being nearly identical in almost every stat just seems meh. I'd rather have more jump range than the ability to have class 7 power plant.

All we need now is a delacy SLF to go with it. Maybe a krait mk1 as SLF?

I have leaked images of a Delacy SLF actually

I haven't seen some of the most important stats yet (vertical and lateral acceleration, heat capacity, or physical location of internal modules), but I have a feeling most of them will differ from the Python.

Class 7 PP is pretty much the only way my hybrid setup will be able to regenerate shields through a PP malfunction, while still having a PP with over 300 integrity.

Only 4 utility slots? Damn, I was hoping for 6 like the FdL, or at least 5.

I’ll still buy one, though. Looks good and has an ideal hardpoint layout for my style of fighting. Hopefully they’ll sell somewhere in LYR space.

Its just the ship I've always wanted!
Will be a great mission runner for medium pads.
The Python is just too much ship. Too heavy and unnecessarily bulky for that.
And the Imperial Clipper can't land on medium pads because someone was taking Quaaludes when they designed it.

I don't know what the point of an SLF is though in a ship that obviously doesn't need one.

What a horrible jump range for the Krait. Multipurpose yet still inferior to the Python. Seems nothing is allowed to compete for overall use to the Python or Conda. Looks like more another gimped combat ship. Weighed down that thing will be as bad as Corvette on jumping. how disgusting

It has a slightly better jump range then the Python. I have a python and dont use it. The main reasons is the canopy and to be frank it's boring.

The Krait looks better to me in every way apart from a little less cargo space. But as I use a Cobra Mk4 for cargo runs, this ship will be a big upgrade and will have the use of a SLF.

Can you show your working?

As The Krait has the same FSD, Core internals, Hard points, and utilities, 30 tonnes lighter hull and one less optional internal to fill, how can it have a lower jump range?

A comparable built the Krait will out jump the Python according to my maths, where am I wrong?

I think calling it a "combat ship" is a bit of a stretch. 9 optional compartments, 0 military compartments.... Looks a lot more like a multirole to me.

It's got two medium and three large hardpoints, with enough distributor to put anything on them comfortably, and an SLF... unless it's a pig to fly, it's going to be a popular combat ship. If it was a medium ship with 2 small 2 medium and a size 4 distributor, I'd agree with you. This one is meant to be a viable warship.

It's a multi-role. It just happens to have quite a lot of gun and I am hoping it does not share Python's trademark sledge-at-speed flight model, which is horrifically broken (and ignores FA-Off for vertical and lateral movement).

Technically type-9 isn't a combat ship either but after watching Rinzler o7o7o7 turn one into Judge Dredd (the endless SCB wind up is the soundtrack to life) I tend to think it's all a bit relative, to be fair.
