Kremmen's Exploration Holiday Snaps (Departure Date: June 12, 3301)

Hi folks.

Here are some pretty pictures from my ongoing travels.

...and I'll try not to ramble (for once). Will let the images speak for themselves. Note: I don't use any post-processing like SweetFX (perhaps I should), but I have bumped up a few detail-level items in the game XML files.

Enjoy!

Eta Carina Nebula

Coreward Bound (Slightly Below the Galactic Plane)

Join the Stellar Objects to make a _______________

With apologies to the late Douglas Adams, proof that the whole fabric of the space-time continuum is not merely curved, it is in fact totally bent...

A gas giant that was left out in the sun too long...

Miscellaneous Pretty Things from 2000 LY directly "under" the Galactic Core

Amazing Sights Way Down Deep Below the Core

Heading for Sagittarius A*

I'm not posting images from Sagittarius A* itself. Don't want to spoil it for anyone!

Diamondback Explorer - Still Running Like New

Bringing this nine-week trip to a close...

Baked Enamel Paint

Nebula Backdrop

Down and Safe

The Diamondback Explorer returns to civilisation, with 91% hull, canopy glass intact, and all equipment in fine working order. Paint and Integrity were both at rock-bottom.

Uploading Cartographic Data

A big shout out to my corporate sponsor, Universal Cartographics! Their contribution towards my trip totalled 49.6MCR.

New Explorer Rank

My rank went from "Pathfinder" to "Ranger" to "Pioneer"...

...but only just! Pathfinder is on 0%...

All in all, that was a great trip!

I had one uncomfortable moment 800 LY out from human-populated space, where I came across a lone CMDR... who went all hollow triangle. I jumped away safely. Apart from that potentially unpleasant situation, the trip back to dock was trouble-free.

Big shout out to CMDR DaMorgs from Angeli Imperial, who accompanied me in a Wing from the edge of the bubble through to Wangal, where I wished to sell my scan data. The security protection detail was very much appreciated - thanks! :D

Welcome back, Commander - and thanks for some great pics of your fantastic journey :)

EDIT: Sorry, I can only give imaginary rep :(

Deep-space griefing, a nightmare situation. He was probably just scanning and was more afraid of you than you were of him but it's better to be safe than sorry. I kept seeing you on the galaxy map and wondered if you would ever return. Welcome home, cmdr. Nice photos btw.

Yes, probably innocently scanning the star while refuelling.

But who the hell wants to see a hollow triangle directly behind you... with fifty million credits' worth of scan data on board... and in a ship with shields so low spec they are running off a 9-volt battery? :D
