Laptop for planet coaster

Can somebody help me please , i want to buy a new laptop soon but don't know which one to buy as I'm worried about specs and stuff for planet coaster

Can someone recommend a laptop that isn't really expensive and that can run planet coaster without lag?

Such a Laptop does not exist. Period. I recently upgraded my PC to a i7 8 Core with 16 gig of RAM and it runs at 30 FPS in my biggest Park. Wich is enough for me. It was around 15 FPS with an i5 4 Core and 8 Gig of RAM.

There is no such thing as a "cheap" and fast Laptop. It is either one or the other. And besides i don't think Laptops are up to the Task in this Case anyway.

Like Crowdpleaser states, thats not an easy task ;)

Even the most state of the art computers will start to lag on bigger parks. With a laptop this is even more difficult im affraid.
I don't know enough about specs so i won't give you any particular advice but as a rule in general, know that PlanCo is quite demanding.

So would a gaming laptop not be good either then?

If the gaming laptop meets the minimum system requirements, then the gaming laptop will be able to run the game. However, the higher end the computer, the better it will be at running the game.

It's a tricky question as it depends for a large part on the size of the park that you want to play with. The more content and guests in a park, the lower the FPS will be.

First things first, set yourself a budget, tell us what it is and you might be surprised at what you will be able to get. Consider if you really want new or if you can settle for a still decent but second hand system.

As a guide, £500 - £600 will get you a similar spec to my laptop. It was originally species with the following:

CPU: I5 8250u 1.6ghz base (3.2 GHz boost)
GPU: GTX 1050
MEM: 8Gb DDR4
HDD 1TB

I have since upgraded it slightly by adding a 240gb M2 SSD and an extra 8gb of RAM. Other than upgrading the hard drive there really isn't much more I can do with it to upgrade it further.

Of course, if you spend more, you'll get more, my laptop isn't so much of a gaming laptop as it is one that can play games. It's decent, but very much entry level. If I were to be completely honest I'd say I need to build my next desktop sooner rather than later as the gaming experience in it can be quite compromised in some cases. But then, you get what you pay for and I paid very little.

£1000(ish) will buy you a decent mid/high range laptop, just don't be fooled by things like RGB keyboards or any other gimmick, you want the best processer and GPU that you can get within your budget.

Thank you for telling me your laptop specs and how much you paid, that's the help I was after.

If you don't mind me asking, when you brought that laptop how did planet coaster run on it, like was it laggy or slow at all?

And I didn't realise you could upgrade laptops, so say for example, if I wanted to upgrade my new one when I've had it for a while, would I be able to take it to a computer person and they would be able to fit the parts for me?

For ‘playing with the best experience’, everything said above here is true. You can look for an Alienware Laptop (dell.com). These gaming laptops seems to meet the requirements. I don’t have one myself...

I use a laptop for Planet Coaster and it runs very well.. albeit the laptop is very powerful, but it was also very expensive! For the same amount of money a desktop could easily out perform it. The laptop suits all my needs, so I am happy.

I don't think it is possible to buy a 'cheap' laptop that will run Planet Coaster at a comfortable frame rate.

So, I am looking to buy a laptop at the moment, and of course its always money vs specs! If I could I would be spending big monies on an alienware or similar, however I am looking at the following specs:

  • Intel® Core™ i5-9300H Processor
  • RAM: 8 GB / Storage: 128 GB SSD
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4 GB
  • Full HD display
Would be upgrading RAM to 16GB fairly swiftly as well.

Anyone got a similar specced rig and know what performance is like? From what I can gather the GTX1650 performs in a range between the previous gen 1050Ti and 1060 and the i5-9300H performs better than previous gen mid range i7 processors so I am hopeful, but would be happier if I knew someone could report back on a similar laptop spec!
