Latest NVidia update means OR doesn't work anymore

I have ED working perfectly and then downloaded (yesterday) the latest Nvidia driver update (I have 2xGTX 780). Now when I boot up the Oculus 1.3 (I have the SDK2) get the welcome screen, and then launch ED Horzions 64bit from my pc, ED runs on my PC main monitor (I have 3 monitors and the OR plugged in), in my OR I get a message saying: "Sorry Elite Dangerous is taking a while to load, if this issue persists please take off your headset and check this app on your computer."

Is anyone else getting this? I expect the new NVidia driver I downloaded has buggered everything up, but I'm not sure how to roll back to the previous one?

Much gratefulness and love for an answer to this problem!

You can get previous drivers off the nVidia website:

Go to nVidia.com, at top left hit "Drivers" and "All nVidia Drivers"
About 1/2 way down you'll see a link to Older/Beta Drivers - then pick your OS and card family, and it will show you the list of drivers.
http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

Save one you know works - perhaps 375.70 or 375.63

Don't use the driver rollback feature in Windows, or use Device manager to uninstall the driver files. It never gets rid of everything.

Go to guru3D and get their driver cleaner tool. It will want to reboot into safe mode so it can clean all the driver files off your PC.

Let the driver cleaner do its thing - you'll be left with a Windows default graphics driver running your desktop (it may bork all your icon placement).
Then run the driver setup you downloaded earlier.

Good luck, loved my 780GTX, sweet card for 3 years+.

I ran ED yesterday with 375.95 yesterday. I saw no change from previous driver.

Unless they sorted it but I tried it a few days ago and it was crap. It was all over the net when I checked that the driver was broken and in the process of being fixed by Nvidia.

Thanks so much everyone. I'll re-install the previous driver and see if that fixes it.

:: It works again! Yay! Thanks everyone! ::

before you install previous drivers, check in Oculus Home that third party apps are allowed to run... It is in the settings tab I believe (not at home atm).
I get that message if it is not set correctly.

I get he same message since I downloaded ED from with the oculus key so I could try v which I must say is great once I figure out how to get sky go working :D but that's another matter. But usually after about 20 seconds it loads in but does take longer than using the ED launcher with the latest drivers

I have seen this issue previously (recently) but the fix for me was to just re-launch ED. I don't know what caused it, but suspect some other task was slowing the disk or system down and that meant ED couldn't launch quickly enough.

Do tell more.....

I would give you the link but don't know how lol but there is a discussion going on on the vr forum if you like YouTube you will love it smack bang in the middle off my Annie where my feet are and the pic looks bigger than I expected long haul trips not an issue :D

Well worth a look

Ah, sorry my mistake - I thought you had it working. I just use Plex for now and look forward to Netflix / Prime support.

I got sky go working apart from the problem with my browser not been able to play the program. Logged in skip through the channels no problem until I push the watch button but been informed there working on that particular problem as we speak

Looks very promising indeed and found it quite easy to use
