Community Event / Creation LAVE RADIO - A podcast about Elite Dangerous

P.S. re: the orange sidewinder ... I personally think it's a HUGE shame that the sidey has been replaced with an installation. There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of installations around he bubble - the orange sidewinder was unique. Did FD have a good reason for replacing it?

People were attacking the Elite Rated Orange Sidewinder so much it was affecting the Background simulation, apparently.

I have to say I was shocked that you guys had a discussion about VR full body locomotion in space without mentioning Lone Echo. Thats is the benchmark and best VR space movement experience out there. They solved it, it’s fantastic. It’s how Elite should be, but alas, can’t be...

This ^^^^
And you have a complete body rather than disembodied hands and they've done brilliant work in making the arm/elbow movements seem realistic and the hand grip positions adapt appropriately to the surface you're touching ...

Well, that's our ignorance. Never heard of Lone Echo before your post and I doubt any of our crew had either, as Kow (The man with every VR setup under the sun) is away for the next few weeks.

Will have a look into it this week though.

If any of your crew have Oculus VR and they haven't tried Lone Echo then a) where the hell have they been for the last year? :p and b) oh boy, they are missing out ... BIG TIME! [yesnod]

Not entirely sure where you got the idea of dev's actively participating in the new CG's (e.g. "piloting Thargoid ships") but, fun tho' the speculation was, I GUARANTEE (at forfeit of a large dinner plate with some words on it) that this won't happen. FD even acknowledged that they can't manually afford the time to keep up with player submitted Galnet news ... there's absolutely zero chance that they can afford to have people in-game actively involved in running CGs (let alone issues re: time zones, different languages, instancing issues, etc). Sorry - just resetting expectation for listeners excited by this possibility.
