For me there were a few highlights.
Firstly flying my shieldless DBX to Sag A*. I was totally unprepared for what I saw when I arrived at the supermassive black hole.
Secondly my first fuel rat rescue of a stranded commander. One of the best community experiences I ever had.
Thirdly on a personal level is how Elite Dangerous got me through one of the toughest times of my life. I was able to handle the anxiety of being diagnosed with brain cancer and used the exploration and travel in Distant Worlds 2 to calm the nerves at night when waiting for months for the surgery. I then passed the time getting the chemo and waiting for scan results. It was the most epic form of escapism that was exactly what I needed! Special props to Lave Radio for giving me something to listen to!
