Some updates from me- I've been rationalising the structure more, and getting the outer hull to align:

And after some scary flipping, here is a quick look of it right way up:
The reason for the rear hull rework is to make the underside hull unbroken as it reaches the back- the black section here is just the 'bulkhead' between the inside and space. Its also black so I can put dark gray / light gray things and they don't get lost.

Nice! I've been a bit busy elsewhere but I've refactored the exterior and simplified many aspects of the structure. Right now its trying to make the exterior as standard as possible using 8 x 4 angled tiles and interlock them as neatly as possible at very unLego angles

Thanks! Its taken a while to line everything up and keep the general geometry of the real thing. Plus, I'm changing the upper section to lift away so that needs thinking about :/

Excellent. Getting the angles right can be such a headache. Oh yes, and that moment when you realise you want to move a section by one stud because “it will work beautifully” and need to pull off sixty million other peices.Here are some quick snaps:
