Lego Asp Scout (UCS minifig 1:96ish scale) update

In the depths of the forum, there's a picture of the mini Type 6 that my son and I built from the smaller Millenium Falcon set. It was great for pieces. I think we even got a mini Sidewinder out of it as well. I was happy to have made three internal rooms, with enough room for the mini-SRV. Nothing like this, though.
There is a line you don't cross with Lego as an adult and I think I've crossed it :D

And a bit of fun: C3PO with his EDO cloning tool!

Here's another achievement of the expedition, constructed when my junior copilot was under the weather with space sickness. I constructed the frame, and he did the details. I couldn't find any image for "Lego Type 6 Transporter" on Google, so I humbly post this for posterity. Constructed from the Lego Millennium Falcon (a great set for rebuilding something else), which explains why Leia and Chewy are making an appearance. And some bad photo editing to make my copilot smile.

Here it is! Back when I was young and innocent. Guns lower from flaps behind Leia's head, and side panels open to reveal cargo and beds. Landing gear fold up. We were proud of it--pretty good for a sick day.

An excellent bit of pilot and co-pilot work. (y)
Star wars is great for building non star wars stuff, it feels a bit wrong but it's all bricks so fair game.
It's a little documented fact, but the medals Princess Leia gave the rebel heroes also allowed free entry to the local theme park on Yavin...
... C3PO is not so keen but Luke is lovin' it.

Looking great (y)
I spot a motor! Are you motorising or is it a greeble?
No, its a greeble as its a very industrial shape. There is another wind up motor on the other side acting as greebling as well :D

Saying that, when I began I made fully retracting landing legs that were the exact match for the 'real' thing- they could have been motorised quite easily with a single strong motor. The problem I got was the model was too heavy for the mechanism, and trying to get a satisfactory 'locked' position was hard as the original legs were at diagonal positions.

Started to put some detail into the cockpit frame- a 1 x 6 flat time felt.....a bit boxy :D

Its close to how I want it, although I'll need a few bits perhaps to pad / cover holes etc. You can also see (bar some angled plates I need to get) the front glacis plate is done.

Updates! I was dissatisfied with several aspects on the model so did a refactor on a few things:

Interior systems / machinery are seeing more love:

I also decided to 'fix' certain hull plates rather than make everything modular- makes life easier (and reworked the undersides):

Did more work on the 'rails' that support the front glacis panel- you can see the ladder underneath and some extra details:

And finally, reworked the outer hull panels so they are c-r-i-s-p and line up. Unlike before where there was a 'wedge' gap' now they are as close as I can get them.

This is what they looked like before and was unacceptably irritating.
