Less of an isolated feel

I think this is more of a personal preference of mine, but i think that the space outside of the park should feel less isolated and in a more populated scene.

hmm i think it shouldnt due to expansion possibilities. if its populated outside the border you can't expand.

I think they should just focus on the actual game first. This is just some cosmetic preference you will look at once or twice, then never even think about it anymore.

Agree with audio. However, this should be an option as not all parks are in an "Urban" setting. Disney world for example, there is nothing around outside of parks as that is how disney wanted it. To separate his visitors from reality.

in RCT3 they had different backgrounds you could apply in the scenario editor, theres a good chance we will see that in PC when the full game is released

Backgrounds can't be too detailed. I agree it adds realism but at the same time the more detailed the background is the more resources it consumes from the actual gameplay itself.

it doesnt take many resources at all to create backgrounds. I think this game definitely needs a bunch of different backgrounds because amusement parks dont just reside in valleys in the middle of nowhere. They are in cities, suburbs, ocean fronts, and on and on and on.

Maybe they say "rather no scenes than 2D". with megacoasters and free falls, i guess it wouldnt fit in the quality of the game if the city around is 2D. making it 3D on the other hand will suck on your Hardware like a leech

its a background, its not going to suck resources at all. Even a 2d Mapped one with animation

But, the problem is, if they use an urban/suburban area, there are a lot more things to consume resources that come with that, rather than just the buildings and landscape. There will also need to be cars driving, traffic lights changing, people walking along sidewalks, and at night all the lights in the windows turn on briefly as to provide some realism. Otherwise, it'd be just a laughable attempt at an aesthetic improvement. [bored]

That being said, a small highway leading to the park would do some good. Maybe very polygonal cars driving along it every now and then.[happy]

backgrounds will not show people, Backgrounds are created to create what is scene at the horizon. Having a nice selection of them is not difficult, has been done before, and are not resource hogs.

I think they should let us build parking lots, bus loops, monorail stations, boat docks, etc, outside the park. And we could maybe have a highway with a road coming off to the parking lot. It'd be cool to see cars in the distance and cars and buses coming in and out of your parking lot, but that should all be an optional detail to be later added; however, it still is an important detail because right now, the park entrances don't feel very realistic.
