Let's play: Top 10 finalists

So we don't really know when support is ending but we'll be soon entering the game's fifth year and the chances of support lasting much more than that are very much in the air.

We don't know what the remaining DLC themes will be but we can at least make guesses about what ANIMALS have the higher chance of making into the roster before end support.

Make a list of the 10 animals (habitat and exhibits) that you think are more likely to be added before we stop getting DLCs. Doesn't matter what kind of DLC or what themes they fit in, just write down a list of animals that you consider will be make by Frontier.

Try to keep it realistic. We know Frontier likes to through in some oddball picks in their packs but none of them are extremely niche or unheard off.

Also is not about what animals YOU want, but rather what animals Frontier will most likely consider.

That said, here is my own list:

1. Tasmanian devil
2. Wolverine
3. Wild boar
4. Pallas cat
5. Spectacled bear
6. Walrus
7. Kiwi
8. Greater rhea
9. Ocelot
10. Gelada

I don't personally have a strong desire for most of these animals and i will be ok with half of them not ending up in the final roster but i think they are all likely candidates to make it in since are easy to make based on prexisting models and rigs and also all animals that are wanted for the community. Out these i think just the kiwi and devil would required a lot of work.

What are your choices?

1. Greater rhea
2. Tasmanian devil
3. Secretary bird
4. White stork
5. Ocelot
6. North Islands brown kiwi
7. Wild boar
8. Marine iguana
9. Goodfellow's tree kangaroo
10. Alpine marmot

I like this thread! It's kind of a rebranding twist on my analysis threads. So here goes:

1. Tasmanian Devil
2. Wolverine
3. Kiwi (any species)
4. Howler Monkey (any species)
5. Wild Boar
6. Spider Monkey (could also be Squirrel Monkey, just pushing for a second additional New world Monkey)
7. Cobra (King or Indian, exhibit)
8. Spectacled Bear
9. Nile Crocodile
10. Two Toed Sloth (any species, walk through exhibit)

As much as I'd like to think they'll include more birds than just the Kiwi, I don't see it happening. ETA, personal bias check, 4 of the 8 habitat animals are from my habitat top 10, though both exhibit ones are from my top 10 exhibit wants.

1. Tasmanian devil
2. Wolverine
3. Goodfellow's tree kangaroo
4. South American coati
5. North Island brown kiwi
6. Takin (any subspecies)
7. Gelada
8. Secretary bird
9. Andean bear
10. Walrus

1. Tassie
2. Walrus
3. Musk ox
4. Coati
5. Wolverine
6. Tree kangaroo
7. Serval
8. Baboon
9. Takin
10. Pere David’s deer (second extinct in the wild species in the game)

Ah lot of hope for the tree kangaroo. I somehow see it less likely than something like the coati and another cat. Would be a nice surprised if added though!
I would put the Coati on about the same level as the Tree Kangaroo. Likely they are unique rigs that at this point they'll probably not be planning to reuse. Of course, one could say the same about the Kiwi and Tasmanian Devil, but the Devil is a hugely requested animal for the last 2+ years (and on top of the metalist for the last year), and I feel like they're probably going to include one more habitat bird, and to me the Kiwi seems more likely than the Secretary Bird or Shoebill.

Of course, we don't know the exact work involved with rigging, beyond near-clone animals, so it's possible that the TK could be on the koala rig, the Wolverine would need a completely new rig (though I think they could start out with the Binturong rig), the Coati could possibly start out with a lemur rig (not sure how but visually they're the closest to a coati, which isn't much) and some of the New World Monkeys might need a new rig.

Point being, as there's going to be limited number of roster slots available, there's even less spots available for more complex and new rigging. That holds true if we get 2, 4, 6, etc packs.

I disagree. I would imagine the coati would use either the red panda or raccoon. Considering they can also stand, either or makes sense.
oh, good choices. Didn't even think about that, just the visuals. It would make sense if the initial rig was the Red Panda or Racoon, movement wise.

Here are 20 that I think have really good chances. I added another 10 because I felt like it.
  1. Tree Kangaroo
  2. Tasmanian Devil
  3. Spectacled Bear
  4. Ocelot
  5. South American Coati
  6. Howler Monkey
  7. Baboon
  8. Colobus Monkey
  9. Grey Crowned Crane
  10. Markhor
  11. Echidna
  12. Wolverine
  13. Pudu and/or Muntjac
  14. Squirrel Monkey
  15. Blackbuck
  16. Pallas's Cat
  17. American Flamingo
  18. Takin
  19. Peccary
  20. Kiwi
My favorites (which I'm not as sure about): American Black Bear, Serval, Golden Lion Tamarin, Emerald Tree Boa
Others that are still comparatively important but I'm less sure of: Indian Monkey, Spider Monkey, Waterfowl, Pelican, At least 1 European ungulate (probably wild boar), at least 1 more marsupial, Aussie Monitor, Secretary Bird, Rhea, Mara, Tamandua, New World Porcupine (probably Brazilian), Musk Ox, Desert Caprine, more monkeys and birds

My Top 10 actual wants (not in a particular order):
  1. Hamadryas baboon.
  2. Serval.
  3. North Island brown kiwi.
  4. Tasmanian devil.
  5. Sumatran tiger.
  6. Bolivian squirrel monkey.
  7. Geoffroy's spider monkey.
  8. Himalayan monal.
  9. Blackbuck.
  10. Little blue penguin.
As for what I actually expect, assuming (unverified, of course) that the next two packs are our last:
  1. Tasmanian devil.
  2. Howler monkey (not sure what species, Colombian red is my favourite but it could be anything).
  3. Gelada.
  4. Spectacled bear.
  5. Another deer (either the Extinct in the Wild Pere David's or a small species like a muntjac or pudu).
  6. Wolverine.
  7. Pallas cat (I'm banking on this one for the winter DLC).
  8. Takin.
  9. Markhor.
  10. A tenth animal. I don't know what.

1. Tasmanian Devil - I mean it's been most wanted for quite some time , and there's plethora of options for it to fit in. I'm still clinging to that climate theory, and in such Temperate pack would be perfect pick

2. Wolverine - Also quite wanted for long time, now third on Meta Wishlist. Following same logic it would go into Continental pack

3. Spider Monkey - I will try my best to remain realistic, which means one monkey on this list, (God knows they would take 8/10 places other way). It fits Temperate pack by definition.

4. Rhea - I see it as a realistic anniversary pick, while completing (almost) ratite roster and boosting bird roster. I know secretary bird is higher on Meta list, but I can't find theme for it

5. Andean Bear - It's a toss up between it and American Black. I just believe Andean brings more uniqueness and diversity, plus there's chance for last two packs to solidify the SA roster

6. Markhor - I stated earlier that I think it would be the selling face of potential highland or in this case - Continental pack. It's also decently high on list

7. Coati - Maybe this should be at top of the list, but I feel like if any pick is locked, it's Coati. Easy pick to support SA roster while also bringing one of the most represented animals in zoos (actually that's just my experience, maybe it's not at all). Temperate pack

8.Wild Boar- Boring "clone" pick to counter pack with Coati, Monkey and Devil, I mean not to me, but I understand it's position within greater community.

9. Pallas Cat - More and more do I believe that they will in fact want to replicate the newest rig of sand cat, it would nicely fit Continental pack, even tho I'm not the biggest fan, wouldn't complain

10. Rocky Mountain Elk - Ultimate oddball for Continental pack, now occupying the role of traditional unpopular ungulate in animal packs. Very easy to make, another deer, not too bad placement on m-wishlist, and also two elk mods are very popular

Okay, this are the animals which I think have the highest Chance to come to the game
1. Tasmanian Devil
2. Spectacled Bear
3. Hamadryas Baboon (I still think it is reserved as a Headliner for any mountain or higland based DLC)
4. Kiwi (any species)
5. Coati (any species)
6. Ocelot
7. Blackbuck
8. Black Howler Monkey
9. An Asian goat (Markhor seems more likely to me than the Takin)
10. Wolverine

1. Walrus
2. South American Coati
3. Spectacled Bear
4. Black Howler Monkey
5. Tasmanian Devil
6. Sichuan Takin
7. Goodfellow’s Tree Kangaroo
8. North Island Brown Kiwi
9. Wolverine
10. Wisent

I mean the ten most likely in my eyes are:

1. Spectacled Bear
2. Gelada
3. Tasmanian Devil
4. Wolverine
5. Muskox
6. White Nosed Coati
7. North American Porcupine
8. Black and Gold Howler
9. Tree Kangaroo sp.
10. European Bison

These, I would say, are the animals I think fit Frontier’s choices the best. Some unique oddball species, some easy builders, etc. i would love all of these species too, so win win!
