Let's talk about MODS

I read that mods aren't going to be at launch (It's logic, Frontier and Universal want to release DLCs of new dinosaurs, and then there is the license problems), but I just want to know, to be 100% sure that will be mod support in the future, sooner or later. If they confirm that, I will throw my money to them, because if the game is a let down, it doesn't matter, there will be mods to improve it.

But I need (And my friends needs) to be 100% sure about that, because you know, I don't trust Universal, and this silence about some aspects of a game that will be release in just two months, coinciding with Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom... oh boy... smells, smells a lot.

Quick question. Could mods be implemented for ps4? Since I want to play it on ps4.

Given how badly the launch for PS4 mods for Fallout 4 went with Bethesda, I doubt many people would be willing to work with Sony on making their games moddable.

There appear to be no plans for mod support in Jurassic World Evolution at the moment, but I think Frontier have said that if there is enough demand then they will allow it.

I think even that's putting it a little strong .. if there's enough demand the might allow for it .. could be more accurate?

What does it smell of OP?

Myself I'd rather have DLC- of dinos with pro animations and behaviours added by the studio itself later - rather than iffy mods .. then again I'm not a 3Dmax user and it depends what kind of mod you're talking about maybe? What are you after? I'd at least drop it in the suggestions box, the devs might be planning to include it anyway? Though you'd have to ask them obviously; https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/420613-Your-wishlist-for-Jurassic-World-Evolution

As a moderator I got excited for this thread's title :(

Fancy a partial DNA transplant Rootsrat? The idea of having some of the moderators havng 'komodo dragon' or 'pit viper' genome transplanted into them (modding in JWE?) is giving me the chills thinking about it. <shivers>.

So... you want to mod a moderator? :D

Go on then! Can I haz a tail please?

You know... games with a short time of development that are released near the premiere of a movie... in most cases they end up being bad games (I don't think this one can apply to this game), games with limitations or low content. And the silence about small questions doesn't help with the optimism, it's like they can't confirm a lot of things we ask because maybe those things aren't planned to the game, risking sales.

I'm just a poor fan of JPOG and dinosaurs, who is afraid about the future of the posible game of my dreams. [cry] JAAAALP MEEE.

[haha][haha][haha][haha][haha][haha][haha][haha][haha] (This smiley seems to be more sad than happy)

I hope so, imagine mods to expand the genetic modifications system, "I want an invisible triceratops", or feathered dinosaurs using DNA from birds, or frogs to let them change gender and reproduce (This sounds hard, but would be awesome XD)... One can dream.

Don't forget Universal is also behind the game. There wasn't any big franchise behind Planet Coaster, allowing freedom for modders. It's quite different in here.

Yeah with PC they didn't have to worry about intellectual property rights and all they had to do was change the name of the rides and the appearance slightly to avoid getting into trouble with the companies that design them.
