Got several things here.

I had been avoiding combat because when I did my 30th kill, all of a sudden everyone trying to interdict me was an Expert in a Federal Drop Ship or Gunship or something else medium size with a gimbled large cannon.

This had a lot to do with my change of play to find synthesis materials. If I reload my Multicannon Turrets with the best stuff the math looks like I should be about even fire power with the Gunship and out gun everything else I have been seeing except a Python which I will avoid like the plague.

In coriolis the description says CHAFF RELOADS in 10 seconds, so I only put one on my AspX.

I just died fighting a Drop Ship with a Novice.
The ONLY reason I decided to take him on was that he first attacked me while I was searching for the CHAFF RELOAD synthesis materials that don't seem to actually exist in the game.

I escaped the first time, beat the interdiction twice and he kept coming back so I managed to get a complete scan of him. I thought it would be tough, but doable even though I had not upgraded my ammo yet. He just wasn't giving up.

Going back and watching the video it is clear that the CHAFF reload time is 30 seconds. That was what did me in. I couldn't keep that gimbaled large cannon off me long enough for the shields to recharge.

So, used the insurance and I am going to head off to a high tech place to get 2 more chaff launchers.

From what I have read, If I put them in three separate secondary fire groups bound to a key, each time i hit the key, the next launcher will fire.
In one old thread someone had a macro that would run chaff continuously until they ran out of ammo. So 10 X 10 X 3 would be 300 seconds or 5 minutes.

That should let me get 3+ shield recharges if I setup a macro to do chaff 1.5 minutes at a time and trigger it just before the shield fails. I actually think this could be stretched out a bit since from watching the video, it looked like it was 13-15 seconds after the chaff fired, before his guns got me locked again.

With the improved Ammo in my Multicannon Turrets if I avoid the Pythons and can keep any of the others within 2KM, especially if I can get behind them and stay there, I should be able to take them out in under 2 minutes.

I wish I could put the video up, but to see the details it has to be huge and trying to get that stupid 2.4.08 upgrade burned a bunch of my higher speed data allotment.
