Galnet News: Changes Brewing in the Lugh System

Gratz to the Lugh Freedom Fighters and the Crimson State Group. You guys and girls are doing an awesome job! :D

a little hint that the volume and perhaps value of trade into and out of a station relative to other factions or stations may be a factor in economic boom going off in a general sense

Awesome work CMDRs!! We too are just starting out on a liberation effort to remove Fed control from a system. It's great to see that it's possible to have an effect on the galaxy. Can this be done without public support and dev intervention???? Who knows but we'll have fun trying :)

thats the big question, i think some of it is automated, perhaps some is still dev controlled until they implement proper systems and gather enugh data of what is happenng now to move foreard

Nice... Now the real question is, Can it spread to other sectors. Can we in fact Raise a new dominate faction?

This is what I am wondering as well.

I know in my small sobek project (1 guy playing 12 hours a day) I have gotten the Sobek Boys to leave the system and they have started attacking traders and system authority vessels in the systems next to Sobek. I have not seen any influence yet in those systems. I find the easiest missions and the most profitable one to be the "Retrieve Stolen Goods at Sigs" missions. They give about 10-20k and they normally give you extra stolen goods that you can also sell on the black market for around 1k-6k each. They raise the influence and Boom as well as lowering the Bust and sometimes famine stats. Solo I have raised the influence in Sobek from 54% to 56% in about a week. I have also started a Boom but I have to wait for the Alioth Independents Boom to end before mine kicks in.

The dukes of mikunn experiement has shown factions can spread beyond their home system but they must reach i guess 100% or control of all stations before that can happen, it will be one of the neigbrouing systems as well. Heres hoping the full cycle can be pulled off

CMDR Erikoismies joining the noble cause, did some missions last night and i'm going to continue later today. Flying a clipper atm but i'll probably need to switch to a cobra so i can access the stations, been fined a couple of times for taking a transport mission but being unable to dock at the target location :S Hope we get some kind of a conflict soon, combat for a good cause is the best kind! (+an added bonus of whooping some federal butt :p)

Hiho Erikoismies. Glad to have you aboard. Every helping Hand is welcome! Still lots of work to be done before the (hopefully) final Flip. Cya in Space around Lugh. I'll give you a Hail if we meet :)

Useful list of Dev replies from the Mikunn 3 week thread

1 Civil war happens between minor factions of the same system - the only way to take a system now.
2 Civil war happens per station - the only way for stations to change hands
3 On possibly unclear feedback
4 Influence tracked per system not station
5Win civil war -> Capture station -> Possibly capture system depending on station
6 Minor factions can't expand in virgin systems for now
7 Peaceful takeover not possible, included in future development plans
8 No eta for automatic expansion background sim. Likely the finished product won't be fully automatic to give devs some control
9 Civil war is influence driven
10 Market is owned by the minor faction that owns the station
11 System changes are handled automatically. Several bugs have held things up.
12 It hasn't been determined yet how developers will decide the who and where of expansion into virgin system. New stations are not added automatically in the colonized systems yet either. Outposts upgrading into stations automatically also has not been implemented.
13 Booms can change market but not station or market type. Station and market type don't change.(Except probably terraform when finished)
14 More on Mikunn bug, that is affecting other systems as well
15 Physical station and market do not change
16 Population size doesn't effect the difficulty in influence gain
17 A bunch of repeats and trade does affect influence of owning station faction
18 Station economy type doesn't change through simulation.
19 Influence is per system
20 Market description bug
21 Market types determined by makeup of system which doesn't change, except for terraforming.
22 Capturing a non -controlling station is not pointless as the capture of the market can help you gain more influence

Thx. Excellent Info!

I don't think so. As Michael stated, everything is automated even if there are some bugs to squash.
The only manual part (yet?) is the GalNet. ;)

Thanks !

Wasn't aimed at you! was aimed at Roybe actually :)

Hehehe, I didn't take it personnaly. I'm just a pawn in this event and I'm enjoying it very much :D

I only skimmed the thread but did Michael not say that we have to take the smaller stations before the big one flips?

Well, I'm not sure about this now :

[...]
One question.
You say "controlling station". Does this mean that every system has one station that sets the ownership of the entire system?
So fighting for the other stations is fruitless in order to change the ownership?

Yes and no. They're not pointless because ownership of a station that has a market means it can gain influence through trading which can be a big boost.

Michael

If so, Adamson is useless... and maybe we should try to flip Cavendish as we have more than the majority and I bet it is the main station.

There have been 2 posts:
a)
Stations don't hold shares. It's held on a per system basis. As influence moves relative to another faction then it could trigger an event, one of which being civil war. If the civil war is with a faction owning the station and they lose then ownership of the station is transferred to the winning faction.

If the station happens to be the controlling station for the system, then the winning faction becomes (or remains) the controlling faction for the system.

Michael

b)
It's usually the biggest one owned by the controlling faction of the system.

Michael

For me that's clearly the info, that our target station should be Hartsfield Market. It's the biggest station near a earth like planet. If we win this one, the system will be independent.

Hey, flying in now to Lugh.

As mentioned in the OP, take up faction missions, kill / pirate non-faction entities (including other players?), and generally try not to bite the dust?
