Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

If (again :) ) we got really a non showing up civil war again i think we will see it in the Mission Summaries again. Red pointers instead of Blue ones etc. Saw some changes with similiar missions i made days ago with different results yesterday.

You've made me think about something : Do you remember the 0% influence gain ? Maybe it was related to civil war ? this could explain everything ^^

Yes, I pointed that out to Michael on another thread. All our non-lethal weapons missions have started reducing civil unrest with a down blue arrow. Before, they were increasing it with a blue up arrow. I thought this was due to them tinkering with bugs though.

I pointed out that this seems like a contradiction. CSG are asking for weapons for their war effort, we deliver weapons, civil unrest goes down and lock down goes up (red arrow)?

This does not make sense. If they are locking down because there are too many weapons among the people then surely civil unrest should be going up? Even if it was going down why is the arrow blue? Makes no sense to me whatsoever...

I have already done this :)

Nice one :)

Please add the resource "Bioreducing Lichen" to the not to deliver list for CSG. Think "Coltan" or "Cobalt" has done the same yesterday have to check again.
The Slaves and deliver Military Plans, Rare Artwork missions etc will also lower influence.

Have to say it doesn't sound like the timeline is right for my theory to have worked in December. It does make sense that once Baladin flipped we saw an uptick in influence.

I've created a short URL to this thread: j.mp/edlugh - it was the shortest meaningful one I could get - which you might send over comms if you see any newcomers in system!

Also, I've been feeling like we need an actual logo for CSG, something we can have on out signatures (I've also been working on a signature generator if you're interested).

How's this?

TheSpearofLugh.png or TheSpearofLugh2.png

The spear is based on the one on this page. I'm reasonably good with vector graphics in Photoshop but not the most imaginative person ever so suggestions very welcome! I've tried to stick with monochrome, in the style of the in-game HUD graphics.

More weapons => more people with weapons => higher unrest => raise of lockdown + Even More weapons => higher security => raise of lockdown => lower unrest

That said, I saw weird results yesterday : two same missions ended with different results ... Can't remember exactly...

EDIT: I like the second one ;)

I believe in the group entity. I believe in group support structure. I believe in collective politics. I believe in figureheads with no power over law or the people. Figureheads exist only at the whim of the people and only to serve because they are the best person for the job and should be awarded according to their actions. Figure heads by appointment should be awarded generously for their efforts for the good of all. With that comes great responsibility to the arts, administartion and societal development. Figureheads should rank in respect to kingly status but punished severely should they abuse that power. Legal punishment is reletive to status. A poor man commiting wrong against the entitled should rank less that the wealthy abusing the poor. Since all rank flows from the people rank can be easily stripped and leaders replaced. Leadership is not entitled. It is earned only by popular opinion.

That is what I believe.

A serious discussion with you about this bursts the limits of my english.
I can agree with your ideas and leadership is deeply burned into our genes over our evolution but i dont belive in unbalanced systems with leaders and ideologis which suppress other people, groups, countrys and so on and live of the costs of them/others.
Overall for me it is absurd that we still live on a planet where only one child has to die of hunger. It just needs to be balanced. There are more then enough resources on this planet for all.
I know i sound like a starry-eyed idealist (dont know the english word for this) now :)

I think those look great, the one on the right would be my pick. I'm a newcomer but dedicated to the cause, it would be awesome to represent CSG in our signatures. If only we could have something like that in game too...

Yes i can remember this (got me really frustrated) but i experienced this also in systems with no pending civil war states. First time i saw influence raise by 1% for missions in summary was when we hit the 50 % mark for CSG. It could be also possible that it was a bug. But what i can say from the gamma is that influence per 1% always worked for Empire, Federation and Aliiance missions but not for Independent factions.

Yeah I agree, the one on the right is excellent but if a glow off that star behind the planet could be achieved that might be even better? Just an idea. It would be great if the Devs created a decal with that! :)

ok... Too bad then ^^

Yes this also confused me a bit. We should keep an eye on missions now and maybe collect some screenshot shots with the summaries to get a bigger picture.

PS: Is there a way to change (config setting or something) the default Save Folder for Screenshots because i dont want to have all my screenshot on my C: drive (1gb so far on my SDD) ?

Could use "mklink /d /j" but maybe there is some config setting you know.

I prefer the second logo as well. I might look at knocking up a sig generator later today on my coffee break.

I wonder if there would be any chance of getting something similar as a ship decal for all of us that have been active in Lugh if it does flip?

Agree totally. Empire mentality is the bane of the human race. There is enough for all but we still have a small group mentality, mistrusting others with a limited attention span for less than maybe 10 actual people in our petty lives. The human race is a collective with a swarm mentality. We should govern ourselves, talented individuals need a voice to help direct that swarm but not at the cost of the swarm itself. These are very old real world idealologies and the basis of celtic law (Brehon Law).

We live in a world where top down law exists where the people are answerable to the state. The state makes the laws and decides what is right and wrong. Brehon law was based on a bottom up (grass roots) systems where the state was answerable to the people. The people made the laws and the statesmen had no actual lawful power. They were assigned protectors, judges, administrators and keepers of history and the arts. They were supported by the system only on an honour basis.

European politics stamped all that out after the rise of the church and feudal monarchy. Bring power back to the people. Disarm the dictators and money men.
