Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

I wasnt my intension criticize anything here just putted together some facts.
And yes its also a test for me. A test that even is exciting and makes fun.

Ok and who triggered the correct events in Sesuang then? As i can say for me and i think for the most we only did trading in sesuang. We didnt do any special mission that would triggerd civil war etc there. But maybe there is a secret group i dont know about :)

Michael mentioned that they are still working on bugs and that the civil war was an issue they were aware of but should soon be resolved. I didn't actually ask him about that but he offered up the information himself. So what I gather is that the pending civil war maybe should have kicked in by now but there was something holding it up. either way, I see no reason why we should not pound LFE some more. They are in the teens now. I have been waiting so long to see that :)

Yes sure lets continue what we are doing since weeks here :) There is no cause for me to leave this experience.
But i think i will also put some effort in Sesuang now as we have many new players helping in Lugh.

So how come Sesuang has gone into Civil War and Lugh hasnt, yet we are 70% and the ratio is circa 50% to 50% there?
Just curious as I might have missed something on here...

might have been the result of the missions that we've been doing for CSG in Lugh that require delivery to Sesuang? Who know who else is working there too. I'm pretty sure one of Michael's posts from a couple of weeks ago indicated that influence has to reach a certain point AND some other factors need to occur. But as orfeboy says, we know they're still working on this.

It's not impossible that the large amount of player activity in Lugh has thrown up some circumstances that weren't foreseen or considered and this is what they're currently working on. All we can do is keep on doing what we're doing - hopefully it's giving FD a wealth of useful data.

It does seem that many of our highly frequented systems are being affected by our activities.

Eta Crucis has battle USS's and checkpoints.
There have been more than one system I have been to that shows Economic Boom and related Luxury USS's.

It finally appears that these systems have been influenced by our activities. It's not surpriseing to see Sesauang go up in flames as part of the missions we have been doing are leading factions to change in that system, we have been removing the Purple Mob for a while...they were the targets of many of our missions.

LTT 4846 should have issues soon if Sesuang does.

The Gold Galactic Company in Belarsuk just hit the 80% influence mark and got Pending States Expansion Critical.

Will this also happen in Lugh when we hit 80% or does our pending states civil war state keep us from expansion ? Maybe there are more factors which play together. We will see soon :)

Yes indeed we seem to have affected a lot of systems with our experience in Lugh just look to Belarsuk and Sesuang. In case of LTT 4846 we have to care that they dont get expansion state like it happened to Belarsuk right now. The Progressive Party of LTT 4846 (Allegiance Federation) is at 74.9% atm. So i appeal to all Cmdrs to stop trading with them even if the source of Gold at Mullane Port is very tempting :)

PS: Interesting didnt know about the battle check points in Eta Crucis.

If we do get expansion there is nothing we can do from a game mechanics point of view. However, I don't want to pursue it. We should not nurture it. Infact, I would actively work against it by supporting the independent faction of that system. We should be aiming to create a pocket of space just run by independents. Elbow out the Feds and create a sanctuary of true freedom smack bang in the middle of Federation space.

If we free Lugh there should be plenty of systems beside us just ripe for flipping. We can spread this like a virus!

Fascinating! If Civil War does trigger in Sesuang, it may be worth sending a delegation to go and fight there - the Lugh campaign is going to take significantly more time due to the number of stations but Sesuang could change quickly. We've certainly got combat-ready commanders (such as Devil Tiger) who are more suited to civil war than our continuing missions + trade for Lugh.

...And Sellers is an Agricultural station, too!

The real danger here is that if a war kicks off there first it will draw enemies fighting against our forces. This will then cause us problems here in Lugh...

Lets not lose sight of the prime objective here.

Thats also my philosophy in our current Lugh experiment. On the other hand i wouldnt mind if an independent faction would expand in a system and taking place of a ferderal faction or even if an indepentent faction expands into an independent system taking a free spot there.

But in our case here now in Lugh i see the opportunity of an expansion status also as part of the experiment with the game mechanics for me. The main factor of expansion for a faction seem to be firstly influence and then maybe wealth, standard of living, production, station count and the states the faction currently holds (unrest, lockdown civil war etc ..).

PS: And the factor according to expansion of a faction which has already the status or pending status civil war and then triggering expansion status also that is something i am interested of atm.

Civil war in Sesuang is probably about another minor station. Remember the latest patch. Civil war is station specific and will trigger as soon as there is a fight over one station.

Edit: Oh, and by the way, try to win the war economically. Fighting in the conflict zones does not appear to do much good.

Plus it coincides with the experience we had with a civil war in our theatre of operations yesterday.

My understanding is that conflict zones do not show up for 'Civl War'...a war between factions within a station. They show up when a War occurs. (this is discussed in the pre release dev notes on the background simulation..and this might have changed from those notes...but I haven't seen anything that dismisses this idea..or I missed it in the forums) out of date information: Updated:https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=100129&p=1553584&viewfull=1#post1553584

I do not believe the faction decreased from operations within the conflict zones, unless the turn in cards specifically showed that..then picture and post in those threads where it is being tracked. The focus of the player base on the conflict zones allows those that are working against you, knowingly or unknowingly, solo, group, or open, to have a larger impact.

My thoughts on why this is? Because the wins/losses are tallied with each turn in and at the end of the conflict, the higher number wins. Unless there is an influence arrow on the turn in card, there is no influence changes occurring.

This will not be the case in those situations that are injected by the devs, i.e. the Onionhead conflict. Those will break whatever way the devs feel tells the story they are highlighting..these should just be considered credit making opportunities.

Are you sure about that? I would have thought that conflicts would dictate to the devs how they should run the story. If they have two outcomes prepared it is easy to allow it to develop organically.

If we are trying to switch a particular station, wouldn't it make sense to only do missions from that station?
I remember reading that the smallest simulated entity is a station, so massively boosting - say - Heartsfield Market might create some tension there....
