Do you think Civil War may kick in automatically, or do you think we may need to raise our own influence to a certain point for the system to check if a civil war is required? i.e. raise our Influence past the next whole percentage point or something? All I'm saying is that I'm not sure how the civil war checks are triggered? Does the system check every day regardless of changes, or does it only check where a significant amount of influence has been gained by a faction?
As soon as civil war triggers I'll be there, hoping it won't be until the end of beta - but that might mean we'll up against tougher capital ships!
The truth is that we do not know for sure but Michael mentioned something about civil wars kicking off when certain treshholds between two factions exist and also when one is clearly above another. There may be other factors that also affect this though such as wealth and standard of living etc. that we do not know about.
But what we do not want is another boom state because this will stop us from having a war. Currently there is a boom in pending states. Now as I understand it these pending states seem to appear before a state kicks in and then after it has finished. We were not so much told but implied that when we had our last pending civil war that this was the cooldown afterwards in action. If this is true then the current pending boom would be a cooldown from the one we just had. Also the pending lockdown would be the cooldown from the lockdown we just had.
The only thing that throws a spanner in the works with this line of thinking is that our pending boom state has a blue arrow up which makes me question everything we think we know. If you consider that what we see is indeed the another new boom state pending, how could this be possible that we have another boom on the rise since there is a period where that state cannot trigger again?
But also by the same logic if it is indeed the cooldown being displayed from the last boom we had that is now displayed as a pending state then why would it have a blue arrow up? Surely it should be going down?
Neither scenario makes sense.
But what we do know is that we have a much greater % influence and we now have no current states for either LFE or CSG. This is the best situation we have had for a civil war we have had so far (if I understand the system correctly). So we do not want to encourage another boom right now. I think we should hold off from trading in Lugh for a few days and see what happens.
The one thing that might delay us is the current civil war between Silver Natural and Lugh Defence Force. This may have to run its course before another civil war can trigger for CSG and LFE.
