Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

Ditto, I also shall remain to help free Lugh.
Once done I will then move up to Alliance space.

Currently bringing in Metals (beryllium usually) to Balandin and exporting Domestic appliances. 500t a trip.
Not sure how much it helps towards influence compared to mission running.

It is probably best to ease off on trading at the moment. Just do a little now and again but spread your activity around other systems aswell. I think what we are seeing in the peding states is a boom cooldown but the blue arrow pointing up worries me a little because we do not want another boom. What we need is a civil war to kick off and this can only happen if both CSG and LFE both have no current state (which they don't as of last night!)

It is possible as someone mentioned above that the current war between SN and LDF may have to finish before ours can start but that may not be true, we just don't know for sure. Our influence is miles above LFE at the moment so a war is almost certain. We just need to maintain what we already have.

This is basically the reason why i am still playing this game. Freeing Lugh literally gets me to sign in everyday and look at these forums everyday. But the past few days i haven't seen many in supercruise around Lugh... I saw darkfyre nearly die in a warzone though! haha! i tried to pull aggro to save you, but ended up dying myself. quite a mess those warzones can get when you have 7 following you.

Thank you! Sorry to hear you were shot down, though. :(

I'm not very good at the combat aspects of this game, especially if there's more than one opponent, but that's kind of why I've been practicing from time to time. Those war zones are crazy!

Do you think Civil War may kick in automatically, or do you think we may need to raise our own influence to a certain point for the system to check if a civil war is required? i.e. raise our Influence past the next whole percentage point or something? All I'm saying is that I'm not sure how the civil war checks are triggered? Does the system check every day regardless of changes, or does it only check where a significant amount of influence has been gained by a faction?

As soon as civil war triggers I'll be there, hoping it won't be until the end of beta - but that might mean we'll up against tougher capital ships!

The truth is that we do not know for sure but Michael mentioned something about civil wars kicking off when certain treshholds between two factions exist and also when one is clearly above another. There may be other factors that also affect this though such as wealth and standard of living etc. that we do not know about.

But what we do not want is another boom state because this will stop us from having a war. Currently there is a boom in pending states. Now as I understand it these pending states seem to appear before a state kicks in and then after it has finished. We were not so much told but implied that when we had our last pending civil war that this was the cooldown afterwards in action. If this is true then the current pending boom would be a cooldown from the one we just had. Also the pending lockdown would be the cooldown from the lockdown we just had.

The only thing that throws a spanner in the works with this line of thinking is that our pending boom state has a blue arrow up which makes me question everything we think we know. If you consider that what we see is indeed the another new boom state pending, how could this be possible that we have another boom on the rise since there is a period where that state cannot trigger again?

But also by the same logic if it is indeed the cooldown being displayed from the last boom we had that is now displayed as a pending state then why would it have a blue arrow up? Surely it should be going down?

Neither scenario makes sense.

But what we do know is that we have a much greater % influence and we now have no current states for either LFE or CSG. This is the best situation we have had for a civil war we have had so far (if I understand the system correctly). So we do not want to encourage another boom right now. I think we should hold off from trading in Lugh for a few days and see what happens.

The one thing that might delay us is the current civil war between Silver Natural and Lugh Defence Force. This may have to run its course before another civil war can trigger for CSG and LFE.

"Sons of Conn" sounds way fancier than "Lugh Freedom Fighters", btw. ;)

'Na mhic na Chonn' or 'The sons of Conn' is a reference to 'Conn Cécatharach' (Conn of the Hundred Battles). The Sons of Conn is a lineage that can be traced back into pre-history from which a very large proportion of native Irish people and indeed all of Gealic Scotland can trace their ancestory. Conn is a real figure although he has inevitably been wrapped in mythology as many early Gaelic rulers were over time. But testiment to the fact that the kingdom of even modern day Connaught (Western provence of Ireland) is named after the Connachta who in turn were named after him and has been since very early times aswell as the oldest written documents in Western Europe recording his reign testify, offers strong argument to the fact that the man truly existed.

Therefore the 'Sons of Conn' has always held a strong resonance with the Gaelic/Celtic world.

And some old stories say Lugh himself appeared to Conn on a few occasions.

Does anyone think it possible that 1.1 (community missions) might bring an additional mechanic to help the fight for independence?

Well don't know if it applies to non system controlling factions but maybe the Crimson group could get a community mission to build a Majestic Interdicter Capital ship. Can see the Gaelic names being suggested hah

Hah - Cúpla suggestions come to mind:

An Lámhfhada (The Long Arm)
Ildánach (His spear)

Agreed.

I don't get much time at the moment, but i'm still around, doing what I can.

And for those who claim E: D doesn't have much longevity or interest, we've been on this mission now for two months. I reckon FD should give us a decal for persistence (or sheer bloody-mindedness!)

Giddy up Cmdr Freebird! What you say is true. Whatever time you give is golden. (admittedly my time is also limited). But - I'm enjoying the hell out of this ride.

We'll get there - all of us.

looking forward to all the Lughvians(?!) stopping in and saying hello!

Is anyone on around Lugh right now? i am practicing interdiction dodging and i am being interdicted once nearly every 1-2 minutes. i was interdicted twice while trying to write this

Edit: so i submit to an NPC asp with a 34k bounty. they ask me for cargo, and upon realizing i don't have a cargo bay installed, they decide killing me is the better option. well fine, i wanted that bounty anyway. Moments later 2 fed vipers and one fed eagle arrive. i get scanned by one of them, and they tell me to "move along" and "were done here." Instead of shooting the asp, they creep around and the eagle takes random pot shots at the asp. Honestly, i think the Feds really don't like me. ( but i had that coming )

I haven't been able to play for a few days. I flew my shiny new Type 7 into Knight Dock and left it there. When I returned I had read that we need to dial back the trading for a bit. So I polished up an Adder since i hadn't ever flown one and did a few missions out of Prunariu. The adder is a lot better than the Hauler but visibility stinks. I like the engine noise - as usual!
Once we need trading I'll fire up the space cow.
