Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

Hey folks..I have been AWOL..life has intervened and I am having trouble getting time to play. glad to see everyone stopping in and playing the game! Check the thread for information on joining us in TeamSpeak (GBN moved from Mumble over to TS 3)...feel free to come in and say 'HEY!'.

It would be great to have more on the TS3 server - I was on for a while last night from about 9PM GMT but couldn't see anyone else on the server at all.

Entered into the Galnet thread...

Government buildings- Alioth. Lugh makes a bold step toward independence... 13-02-15

The Alioth system has been at the centre of controversy in Alliance space today after the arrival of Éamonn Uí Laoighre the leading spokesperson in the current bid for independence of the Lugh system and his entourage. The streets of Constitution City were choked with supporters for the efforts of the people of Lugh in their struggle against the dominant Federation who recently introduced Naval intervention to maintain control of the wavering system. The visitation was met by banners and cheers of support as the representatives made their way toward Government buildings. While at the time of this report Ambassador Uí Laoighre has been yet unable to seek an audience with Alliance state officials, he did address the huge throngs of supporters who came out to greet him from upon the steps of the state residence.

"We have come here today to seek inter-galactic acknowledgement from the combined systems comprising of the Galactic Alliance of free independent worlds that the Lugh system is a sovereign body and recognized as such by the other free worlds of this galaxy. Since its earliest inception the Lugh system was settled by a sovereign people of one lineage and one religion who have made it their spiritual home. It is to them the systems economic value is owed. Their legacy is written in its very rocks! Popular support for The Crimson State Group in the last polls was at 87%. The only thing standing in the way of the will of the people is the Federal Navy! What more I ask you are grounds for a single people to forge their own destiny undictated by others? The Sons of Conn as foretold, have risen up and we declare the right to a free Lugh."

While as of yet there has been no response from Government buildings, work of gaining support is set to last up to a week and if the crowd turn out here today is anything to go by, Government officials may have no choice but to deal with the representatives of Lugh.

OK guys, I think it is time we started trading again. Too long and we risk losing people. LFE have risen 1.6% and currently it is my opinion that the system misrepresents itself. The pending states shown by both LFE and CSG are cooldowns from before and we should take this opportunity to trade without risk of pushing another boom. If not and I am wrong then LFE are set for another boom while we sit idle and that will prevent a civil war so better to push our % up and deny them of their boom.

So everyone, lets get back to work and push this to 100%. I am planning an assault on Galnet to raise Lughs profile and we should raise our % as high as we can. If the system does indeed work we should get our civil war and if not then it will be clear just how much it does not work. The closer we get to 100% the better. Above I have detailed how Éamonn Uí Laoighre (Pronounced: Ay-mon Eee Leehra) our current champion of the people is battling for recognition from the Alliance for the Lugh system. We are going to highlight Lugh's plight to the rest of the galaxy (and game players) and shame the Federation in the process. I also have other plans to further our story as we go so watch this space. The plan here is to draw attention to how favour among the people is clearly in CSG's court and that the Federation are nothing more than bullies and Empire builders who care nothing for their so called democracy...

How about missions? It's been torture for me to see all those requests from the people, via the CSG, for this, that, and the other thing. I did get to betray another LFE mission last night, and some more bounty hunting in my Viper, but for the most part, I'd like to be running missions again.

Nice postings above orfeboy !

I dont know what you guys did yesterday for CSG but i delivered tons of exploration data to knight dock and we raised +0.2% in influence. But overall trading seems to be the better and steady solution to reach 100% influence.
Well lets fire up our t6, 7's, 9's, anacondas or whatever and flood CSG stations with progenitor cells from our allies in Belarsuk so that the people in Lugh will life forever in a free system in future.

I don't see why not. If these pending states are cooldowns then we should not be able to trigger another lockdown and if I am wrong and the system is working then another lockdown will only last 3 days. I will use another lockdown if it happens as fuel for more Galnet propaganda. I say go for it!

I like the sound of that! :)

You can influence a minor faction's influence by destroying their ships.

Blockading doesn't work against trade.

Michael

Destroying LFE's ships will help also (i know griefers..).

The deliver intel dossier, courier Samples, secure deliver paterns will help us influence wise. But i think they have also all their negative side effects like all other missions. Increase in lockdown, boom etc. So if hundres of people do this...we saw the outcome..

Edit: Ok go for it. Future cooldowns have been reduced to three days forgot about that :)

Destroying ships will help but will also raise lockdown and will have to be couteracted by bounty hunting.

The question is have only civil war cooldowns reduced to three days or overall ?

And a lockdown state lasts about 3-4 days from what i can remember.

PS: The blue pointer up at our pending state lockdown has disapeared today.

Sorting out my explorations. But this discover was also very beautiful.

PS:

I dont want to state myself here on the forums or something...
And i am not one of those 84's who pld the original Elite (i played it afterwards). But i played Elite 2 Frontier to the hells "end". My mother had to plug off the wire of my amiga 1200 because i couldnt stop exploring. And Elite 2 Frontier is still the best game ever made in my eyes (a universe made in assembler on one disk ?).

I am a bit disappointed that ED never reached approximately the level of Elite 2 Frontier..and maybe its time to say good bye to ED and come back in a half year or something..

Maybe and no offence.

To quote what I consider the greatest game of all time: "Please don't go. The drones need you. They look up to you." ;) But in all Siriusness, if you're not having fun, it's all right to take a break and come back later. It'll still be here when you get back.

Having played the original AND Frontier: Elite 2, I do miss the ability to land on planets. I also preferred the full Newtonian physics of Frontier. But since my favorite part of Frontier was missions, I feel E: D has surpassed its predecessors in that respect. But once planetary landings and EVAs are in the game, I'll be spending much more time exploring.

I just made my way back from Yembo. Hope we can finally push Civil War this weekend. :)

In case someone is looking for a good trade route:

Balandin - Domestic Appliances (268705 MED Supply)
to Charunder Whitworth Station - Sell Domestic Appliances (102588 HIGH Demand) 297/t Buy Beryllium (695204 High Supply)
Back to Baladin - Sell Beryllium (397337 HIGH Demand) 1456/t
Round Trip 1753/t

With Supply now working, Belarsuk could run out of Prog. Cells rather quickly.

Hmm, I was just looking at Slopey's BPC, and that's the best suggestion on there!

And also had a dogfight with Tailonyx, once we could get in the same instance. Best fun in ages, his Cobra + skillz matched mine in my Viper very well. Until we smashed into each other, causing him about 20% hull damage and me 50%. At least it wasn't the original 1.1 release, huh?

I use Slopey too, great tool. But this is no copy/paste, i checked the numbers before posting so they should be accurate.
Forgot to mention that the distance could be a problem. 17.55LY are almost impossible in one jump with a Type 9 i think. Not sure about the smaller trading ships.

I can handle that. My Asp can handle 28LY while fully laden. I will check it out tomorrow :) .

What?

Bloody religious nutbags (no offense) :D

Aaaaaanyway - I'll hopefully get back into Lugh this weekend provided I can resolve the update problems I am having with the damn game.

Think I'll do some (non greens) bounty hunting.

Cheers
