Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

What?

Bloody religious nutbags (no offense) :D

Aaaaaanyway - I'll hopefully get back into Lugh this weekend provided I can resolve the update problems I am having with the damn game.

Think I'll do some (non greens) bounty hunting.

Cheers

it means thank you actually :)

Thanks FD! I logged on last night and my credits had returned after my mad collission in the space dock the other night. I nearly lost everything. Somebody out there in FD land must have been watching for collission crashes after 1.1 release and giving players their credits back. I never asked for my credits back but thanks very much all the same :)

2.8% increase nice! Let's keep up the pace and push for 100% :)

Once u hit 100% this will get interesting, though of course the original goal was not to expand beyond the system, but the group is large enough that i guess a new group cn be formed if so wished to push the expansion elsewhere. If not anyone partaking in lugh that wants to work on expanding a faction into a multiple system entity is welcome to join the pand group come to the fringe and assist us in turning purple central industry up here across multiple systems. We could use the manpower ( ive been back and forward to lugh one day a week to assist with the CSG experiment as well from the early days) i helped the mikunn group that stalled and now we have something with promise.

And the good news up here is we havent had developer attention yet in terms of ingame galnet news, so we are under the radar and doing well

Yeah, I did a fair bit last night but I would think your Anaconda made more of a dent :) I think your plan is the right way to go. 99.7% will highlight that changes are needed if we do not get a war by then. I don't think there were even too many at it last night so if we hit it hard tonight we might do even better :)

I am still trying to figure out what the logic behind the changed mission screens are? It is as if they have changed the resolution to make the text smaller but I see no logic in this? As for the blue bar display, while nice to look at it does not actually give you any more information than before.

So all hands on deck people. This could be a very short ride. Many hands make light work :)

I just made my way back from Yembo. Hope we can finally push Civil War this weekend. :)

In case someone is looking for a good trade route:

Balandin - Domestic Appliances (268705 MED Supply)
to Charunder Whitworth Station - Sell Domestic Appliances (102588 HIGH Demand) 297/t Buy Beryllium (695204 High Supply)
Back to Baladin - Sell Beryllium (397337 HIGH Demand) 1456/t
Round Trip 1753/t

With Supply now working, Belarsuk could run out of Prog. Cells rather quickly.

Thanks for this. Much appreciated. Gonna ditch the cobra for a type 6. Need to make a few hundred grand first though. This will help.

Title: Assassination attempt as the Lugh rallies at Alioth grow apace!

The situation in Constitution City erupted today when Éamonn Uí Laoighre addressed the crowds for his second attempt to gain an audience with Alliance representatives on the steps of Government buildings. While engaging with the huge numbers gathered a single shot was fired from a nearby building which while missing the ambassador struck one of the crowd. The ambassador was rushed to safety but this did not stop the crowd turning ugly while the assailant escaped unscathed. Still resolute in his conviction, Uí Laoighre addressed the crowds upon the steps more defiant than ever.

"We declare the right of the people of Lugh to the ownership of Lugh, and to the unfettered control of The Sons and Daughters of Conn's destinies, to be sovereign and indefeasible. The long usurpation of that right by a foreign people and government has not extinguished the right, nor can it ever be extinguished except by the destruction of the Sons of Conn. In every generation the Sons of Conn have asserted their right to freedom and sovereignty; six times during the last three hundred years they have asserted it to arms. Standing on that fundamental right and again asserting it in arms in the face of the wider galaxy, we hereby proclaim the Lugh System as a Sovereign Independent State, and we pledge our lives and the lives of our comrades-in-arms to the cause of its freedom, of its welfare, and of its exaltation among the inhabited systems."

Local authorities are asking any with information concerning the assailant to come forward to help with their investigations at this time.

It's worth bearing in mind that we are not the Crimson State, the internal algorithms will determine whether CSG decide to expand into other systems after taking over Lugh (if that happens - nothing should be taken for granted, revolutions do fail sometimes).

So is everyone clear what the plan is tonight? Trade and missions for CSG. Betray LFE missions and if you must bounty hunt, do not take out CSG ships.

We got lockdown in CSG last time because we were not controlling the other factions pirates. If LFE ships are attacked and our pirates are unhindered it would encourage a lockdown for them...

What we want is civil war, so push up our %. If the system works it will happen on its own. If not, we will have near 100% which will highlight that the current system needs work. It is crazy to think the opposition to Federal control is near 100% without sparking a war. The guys at FD will have to look at the situation again. This is not meant as a game breaker but it does highlight that the system does not represent reality which really it should.

It is my belief that at a certain point of influence differential an eruption of violence should spark a civil war as the people find their courage to follow by example. This would not only make sense but inject much needed excitement into what I call 'The Silent War' that the system currently offers. I have suggested this to Michael but I don't think they need our input and have plenty of ideas themselves how the system can be improved further. With a little fine tuning this system will be brilliant but a near 100% influence and still no movement on a civil war would seem a bit unrealistic. So I think if we can achieve that and still have no war maybe they will look at that scenario and change it for the better.

As do attempts to colonise sovereign states and fractionism based upon differing ideals after initial independence is quite common...

Interesting point - I don't suppose FD have factional splits in the model...

Brian: Excuse me. Are you the Judean People's Front?
Reg: **** off! 'Judean People's Front'. We're the People's Front of Judea! 'Judean People's Front'.
Francis: ****ers.

I shall start trading again in Lugh tonight then, although I may only have time for a brief stint. I haven't upgraded my asp enough to jump straight from Lugh to Belarsuk fully loaded, so have been trading from LTT 4686 in an attempt to improve my standing with the feds a bit.

See you tonight.

Did a bunch of missions this morning, including one LFE mission I betrayed. ;) Server just died before I could complete my second batch of missions, but that's OK. Still got about six hours to deliver a shipment of armor and weapons to CSG agents in Hartsfield Market. I'm going to make lunch, eat it, and then back to the game!

BTW, I finally got a bounty-hunting mission, in another system, of course. Does anyone know if pirate kills in Lugh count towards that total? I've gotten two out of the four so far while searching USSs. I don't do enough combat-oriented missions to be certain.

I'm not certain but I would imagine that the pirate kills are linked to that other system otherwise what's the point in the specification?

A simple test would do the trick I guess. Search USS in Lugh, kill pirate, check active transaction log on your right menu and see if the x/4 was incremented in that particular mission.

Only kills in the systems shown in the mission description should count. You can kill wanted ships at nav beacons in those systems and sometimes they will also count towards the mission.

Tonights report from The North:
Went "home" and switched the cobra out for the spacecalf, loaded up on prog.cells and went to Read Terminal. I raced a CMDR to it, got there first but landed traded and lifted of just in time for him in his 6'er to come to the station, where I greeted him with "Hey there, I saved a spot for you!"
Him: "Thanks :)"
Me: "I have never traded that fast before :D"
Him: "I can tell, the pad is still warm!"
Got a friend there. This game is fantastic!

Spotted Dubh on his way out of Balandin when I lifted off one time, but he was running hot thrusters, no shield and a slightly scraped hull in a hurry to Sesuang! Wonder what he was up to. Barely had time to greet him before he hyperspaced away.

After a few runs between High Tech-system and Lugh, I expectantly traded my trusty spacecalf in for an Asp at Balandin.
Hallelujah, what a ship! Got so happy that when I took of, I hit the boost instead of thrust up and it cost me 65% hull... Well, kick me hard... Didn't die, yippie! :)
Now, more trading, but in a ship that doesn't turn at a rate similar to an oak wood dinner table!
