Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

Well I would like to say, I cannot wait for the day that we get this stuff working correctly, free the system, so I can wreak havoc over the loss of so many Lughvian underprivileged children. I know the nefarious rumors and will do everything I can to make the Federation pay for their taste for Lugvian Cracker pate`... the monsters!

Why in Gods name would they do that? Food from kids... its political suicide.

Didnt get a reply from FD on my ticket i submitted. Sticking to flying my eagle around for a while.

code for despite us saying the background sim is working as intended its so riddled with bugs and we cant be bothered to fix it cause we fired the guy that developed it. So no u cant influence the universe cause despite this being known for over a month it still hasnt been fixed and wont be but well keep telling people that it is working as intended yadda yadda yadda. We need a serious dev blog on the background sim and FD need to make sure everything that is implemented to date is coded properly

code for putting words in someone's mouth. :)

surely there is someone way they can simulate at FD HQ the impact of a faction pushing influence up, and tipping a station to change ownership, is the problem in the database rather than the implementation of the idea. Or is it because certain things are still missing so certain things can change or cannot change- and maybe a dev response that is a dev blog rather than a one liner - a lot of it is probably server side which means it should be easy to fix or go through a log and see where things are falling down.

Although there is good reason to believe many of the rumors circulating McClean Dock at the moment one cannot deny that 'Fangrys Cat Food' is making a killing on the open market at the moment and in recent polls 9 out of 10 lumpsucker leopard owners say their pet prefers it over any other brand...

Of course they can simulate.

But test results are only as good as the imagination of the tester and the time he has for thorough testing. If you have a complex system with many influence variables, you'll need a lot of time to write those tests. And still wont cover the whole behavior.

But well, the background sim is apparently only a very small part of the game, I dont think more than 2 or 3 people work on it. Nevertheless it'd be nice if they fixed at least the bugs where influence changes do not happen. Like when you do missions for a faction not owning a station.

It's been 2 months since launch, and over 1 month since the winter holiday. Its about time this works correctly. Especially because its basically just scheduled database operations against a mathematical model. Which is really rather basic stuff when compared to networking, physics engines or similar.

Nevertheless the amount of bugs is still rather high. I hope we will see a change of pace in regards to fixes as soon as all the 25 day cooldowns are gone.

Especially to these three issues (imho bugs):
- huge influence superiority not triggering further civil wars (needed for change of allegiance)
- minor factions without stations not getting influence increases
- systems not getting influence changes at all

Especially the part with the minor faction that does not own a station is a severe hindrance to any focused effort in influence gaming.
I was just browsing through if there are still issues with the influence system... We have a little project with our group where we try to push the influence of the smallest minor faction in the system up. In three weeks we have seen no change in the influence of the system and now we're even running out of missions!

Based on the quoted message, there seems to be a known issue (at least by the community) with increasing the influence of a minor faction without a station. Is there also a known issue with no missions being generated properly?

It's just silly to fly between the two outposts in the system and only finding ONE random mission from one of the other minor factions every now and then (probably like one mission per 2 hours).

PS: Already created a ticket.

at the very least let the junior devs who attend to the background simulation speak up as to who they are and work with us, perhaps even a sub forum just for this type of stuff. Like the junior eve online devs who post daily in regards to what they are doing, FD get youre staff communicating a bit more often, if they make changes or for bugs.

That's the green mushy stuff isn't it???

In this instance we can't. It looks like there's an issue preventing this being flipped. We are investigating.

Michael

Good news that you have spotted a bug preventing station flipping! Once you have figured out how to fix it, can you check HR 7327 as well because I think Dukes of Mikunn should own Law Party's station (whatever the station name was).

Would also be interesting to know why Dukes and Dynamic didn't go civil war critical when Dukes passed Dynamics in influence a few days ago. Maybe it is because Dukes need War against Dynamics instead of civil war. This is because Dukes are invaders instead of native faction of the system... But let's wait hope for the station flipping bug to get fixed first.

Loving this project. There's so much info that it's hard to pick out salient points. Can someone briefly answer the following questions:

1) Did Crimson State Group only exist in Lugh at the state of the project?
2) Has CSG spread to other systems?
3) Has any station ownership changed (I see discussion about this but can't see the actual state [no pun] of them)?
4) Is there an in-game group dedicated to the CSG cause?
5) Is there a website?

Keep up the good work, Lughers. Some Community Goals should just be goals set by the community.

Keep pushing it guys. Not far now at all and CSG's dominance is undeniable. Just a little more... Nobody will be able to argue. We did EVERYTHING!

Ok again and i hope this bug get fixed soon.

Like i said. Does this mean for Lugh that we have to wait another two weeks to trigger the next civil for CSG or any other minor faction since the last civil war between the 0.1% factions SN LTD and Lugh Defence Force has ended in the time around the 07.02.2015 (before the three days civil war patch) ?

No, as posted earlier in the thread there's a bug preventing CSG getting into civil war to flip the system. We're looking into it.

Michael

Are cooldowns minor faction specific or system specific?

They're specific to the minor faction.

Michael

Means there can be more civil wars (or civil war cooldowns) between spereate minor factions at the same time in one system. For example minor faction a with b and minor faction c with d ?

Yes.

FYI, I've been smuggling Personal Weapons from Knight Dock to Hartfield Market's Black Market every day. Sometimes at 500 - 10000 tons a day. I haven't hindered progress (influence) and and at 104 tons per turn, I get 83,xxx credits getting there. If you are hostile to the Feds then they won't even scan you when entering the station. Arm the people. Give them the Spear of Lugh and watch it's shockwave when it strikes the ground.
