Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

That's quite bizarre - nothing since 28th Jan and now they jump up by that much!?! My Influence Graph is still up to date by the way!

I've been continuing to do missions and trade, hopefully we'll at least beat everyone else down to less than 1%...

Commanders, my recent smuggling has ceased because of illness. I'll rejoin the skies on Monday.

There is definitely something funky going on there! How come both CSG and LFE both lost EXACTLY the same amount (.7%) and LDF and DOL both gained EXACTLY the same amount (.7%)?

I doubt very much that is a funny coincidence... There must be something being tweaked on the servers.

Sorry to hear that. We can always do a run for you. Which would you prefer? Basic medicines, Agri-medicines, progenitor cells or performance enhancers? :)

Get well soon.

Thank you Commander. Progenitor cells for the credits! !

Update:

Crimson State Group 96.1% (-0.3%) +Boom -Lockdown
Lugh for Equality 2.0% (+0.1%) +Boom
Lugh Defence Force 0.9% (+0.1%) Civil War (cooldown)
Silver Natural 0.1%
Civil War (cooldown)
Dominion of Lugh 0.9% (+0.1%)
[See on Influence Graph]

There has definitely been a change in the background simulation here - several of us were doing missions and trading yesterday but 0.3% has been given to competing minor factions. Ugh, demoralising!

Actually, I think it makes a bit more sense.
Unless you eradicate a faction completely they will still have sympathisers to run errands for them (NPC), so I'd expect them to bobble along at minimal influence with the occasional small spike when CMDRs are less active than normal.

If anything is demoralising, it's the fact that after more than 2 months, we've got so much influence, yet it's still a Fed system :(

Oh well, onwards and upwards :)

You could be right - but the problem is for all you know private group/solo players - who may have never read this thread - could have stumbled into the system and be affecting things. I get the argument form FD that they don't want to explain everything; after all imaginations filled in a lot of the gaps in '84 - but I do think a bit more transparency is in order. After all, when Vladimir Putin decides to 'flip' one of his neighbours the T-72s are fairly hard to miss...If LDF or DoL just got reinforced there should be some visible manifestation of what has happened. Who would be an FD developer...the wish list just gets longer ;)

It may well be that pushing factions down to 0.1% shouldn't have been possible, or at least shouldn't have been as easy as it has been. So this may be the new normal, no need to be demoralised.

True. Also true but unlikely that a player group could have started acting on multiple opponent factions.

I guess the question is: what is that new normal? It was looking like we could push all the other factions down to 0.1% and then it would take little effort to keep them there. I guess we'll work out over the next week or so whether we'll face a persistent uphill battle to keep dominance or whether there's a ceiling to NPC-only factions.

In the end we're mostly waiting for resolution of whatever is keeping us from getting into civil war anyway.

orfeboy's Galnet post (or at least an edited version) has gone live!

Actually that explains why I just came across several new visitors to the system, one looking for conflict zones...

Bad timing. A lot of people will travel to Lugh in hope for combat only to find nothing. :p
After some refreshing combat in Igorodimos, i'am now back to trade again :)

I just read the news feed and came here to take a looksee. Does it have anything to do with what you all have been working on or just another fictional article post?

There is definitely something weird going on with those figures. I did about 2 million in profit last night. Seen a couple of the usual lads on and yet we still have LDF and DOL rising? They do not have any stations so trade can't be helping them. Only missions. If that were the case then surely all our activity would easily cancel them out? seems very odd to me.

I getting back out there now to slog some more...

Yes something changed but not only in Lugh. This three factions in Belarsuk were holding 0.1% influence before and raised also 0.7% the last day.

It is probably all related in the end. It is an article post (note the above posts), however, it has been added at a time when we have total control of the system's faction (last time I saw all other factions had less than 3% of the faction available) ..so something MIGHT be getting ready to happen. Watch Galnet and check back here often.

Well we flipped ONE system! ;P Yay, us! LOL. Also noticed the names changed after one of the last updates...wonder if that was related...system getting rid of the taint of Federal naming?

Yes lol but not the one we intended to. Just paradox :)

But atleast we know now that it is possible.
