I have my fitted T6 that I'm using as well, just need some rare trade runs and when I get bored of that pop into the T6 and do trips to I Carnie. And then get the viper out to do some Extraction sites for fun.
One thing I did notice over the weekend, I fought in one of the conflict zones that were in Charunder, and I lost the war bonds that I made. Must be a bug.

For the first time in ages LDF and DoL have significantly different influence so I guess that the conflict is doing something.
But you can also read something else into that... Who is doing the fighting? Is it all NPC's? A trip out to these conflict zones to have a peek might be an idea...
I did a CSG warzone mission and killed 6 DoL. I'd surprised if it made that much of a difference, though.
Where there other commanders there?
Nope. Just me and a bunch of angry NPCs. (Ah...but I might have been in solo! I was trading in solo and think I went back to open for cobra work...but I might not have done.)

No rumor. Combat bonds by design do not raise influence. Changes with 1.2.
Can you expand on that Flin? Have you figured out how combat zones work yet? I get the impression that when two factions go into conflict it is an opportunity for them to wear each other down. Is influence gain frozen during this time? I would guess if you look at DOL and LDF that we have fighting at the moment that they are wearing each other out. Should they fall below a certain level maybe they die or lose a station if they own one?
It may or may not be relevant but I didn't get any combat bonds from the 6 I killed. I assumed that was because I didn't go to a DoL or LDF station (because there aren't any), but someone else has suggested it might be a bug. Assuming this is the case for everyone it back up the theory that bonds don't affect influence - because there has been a change in influence and there haven't been any bonds.
It begs the question where the influence change has come from. Perhaps it is simply that more DoLs have been blown away than LDFs.

Interesting info Walt. That reinforces the supposition that missions are only really of any use for raising personal standing with a faction. A terrible shame and, I imagine, a depressing waste of many, many man-days of folks' time.
