Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

Morning folks!

In preparation for upcoming war, I have been creating a recruitment propaganda video, with the help of orfeboy and a few others. Please don't share this yet - I will probably be publishing a final version later day but wanted folks on this thread to get a preview:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ukKVV9_UTS4

All shot in the Lugh system and edited down in iMovie, with music by the 70's Irish rock bank Horslips. Thank you to everyone who joined the raids that I was using for footage - I hope I included you in somewhere! I think the main requested change is to include a bit of footage of Lugh Star, which I'll try to do but I'm not sure I'll have time to shoot the footage and edit it in.

I've changed the YouTube channel to be called "Crimson State Group"; if anyone is interested in publishing videos to the channel then PM me and we can discuss plans and add you as a "manager".

Woo Hell of a great job!

Congratulations Mauze! o7

Can you expand on that Flin? Have you figured out how combat zones work yet? I get the impression that when two factions go into conflict it is an opportunity for them to wear each other down. Is influence gain frozen during this time? I would guess if you look at DOL and LDF that we have fighting at the moment that they are wearing each other out. Should they fall below a certain level maybe they die or lose a station if they own one?

As you can see in the Beta 1.2 update 3 release notes and M Brookes' comments combat bonds were not designed to give influence.

We experienced the following in the many civil wars we fought or observed:
- Flash CVs are fixed, new mininum 3 days.
- if nothing happens, CV wears off without station change. During this time CV factions suffer influence losses (maybe because trading and influence doesntgive influence, or significantly less)
- Bounty hunting is not affected anymore by where you turn the bounties in, or at least hardly noticeable. You have to bounty hunt in the system, or get bounties issued by the faction you support and turn those in. Before you could BH where you want and turn them in at your station. This doesnt work anymore.
- Combat bonds do not give influence (confirmed). Killing enemy ships, however, does lower influence of the target faction. This is currently miniscule, lots of effort needed, see Mikunn
- Civil war is usually triggered when two faction get the same influence And no cooldowns or other states exist
- Civil war is usually won when the winning faction gains an advantage of around 5%

So in conclusion: civil wars require effort. A lot of effort. Since influence gains are from combat only (or.mainly), and bounties are usually issued by the ruling faction, all that is left are combat missions (may be bugged regarding influence gain), kill missions and killing ships of the target faction.

Its doable, but not easy. We get between 5 and 8 million combat bonds per day. And an Anaconda gives 18.000, so you can do the math about the effort.

We have War!

The Lugh systems best scholars who are still fluent in the ancient tongue and have access to the ancient tome 'An Leabhar Gabhála Lugh' have always maintained that its contents are not merely myth or collection of stories. They argue that its pages contain the true history of both the people of Lugh and their ancestors journey from the source world and how they settled our hallowed home.

But those who have studied it's pages well know of the prophecy!

"And though his enemies be about him,
conspiring in his wake.
To steal and plunder his solemn realm,
his kingdom they would take.
But from out of darkness his children come,
His light shall not been undone.
For from the void comes his Spear of Light!
The return of The Sons of Conn"

Many of you are still in Lugh. Many of you have left. I understand. It has been a long and weary road but finally we are here. War is coming to Lugh. I do not send this message lighty. I send it because it is true. For those of you that left us feeling the call of the void dragging you further and further from Lugh's glorious light I now ask you to return. we need you. Great war and strife is coming to Lugh. See below:

We need everyone home immediately. This is it! Those of you who thought this day would never come please heed my call now! There will be untold numbers of random players who will support the Federation. There are thousands of players who do not read the forums. There are those who could not care less what we have been trying to achieve.

You are receiving this message because you once gave us your service. But now we need you more than ever. You can make a difference! This is a chance for you to be a part of Elite Dangerous history!

Fulfill the prophecy! The Sons of Conn will return and claim what is rightfully theirs!

Lugh Lámhfhada abú!

Well, now we have the Federal provocation, here's the release version of our recruitment video, complete with links out at the end! Dubh, if you come up with something better for the web link to point at, I can swap it quite easily!

Please follow/like if you're on Twitter or Facebook, and then of course share the video link! By the way I'm looking for someone who likes Facebook to help me out on keeping it up-to-date and replying to any questions that get posted. If you're interested, please PM me!

The challenge of course is to get as many people in the Elite: Dangerous community to know about us and think of joining us when war comes, and many of those won't be on the forum.

But for those who are, I've created a new thread in the 'community creations' forum with my link. Please visit and comment so that it gets coverage in the "New Discussions" view! Ta!

For those in Lugh, we have opened an Embassy. This will be the clearinghouse for Official Announcements related to the Federations demand for reciprocation. If there are groups that read this thread and want to throw in with the fate of the Lugh crowd, either respond publically at the embassy, or PM me and I will help explain how you can keep your ships and self safe within this systems growing military environment.

I'm In (rolls up sleeves)

Nightstorm was telling me about all the good work everyone's doing for the faction with trading etc, and asked if I'd help. I'm not that much into the politics of it all, but when he said there'd be a pint of the black stuff in it for me if I came to lend a hand with the fighting when it turns real ugly, well, right - I'm in.

Ah, who am I kidding, I'd do it just for the punch up :)

See you lads there as soon ;) ( & love the recruitment video btw! )

In Mikunn the Dark Armada is fighting us for the system. As they identify with the Empire I found it likely that they might want to help you and your cause, even if only to spurn the federation.

I contacted them and they are willing to send soldiers to fight alongside the Mercs of Mikunn to help you in a very unlikely alliance.

Looks like I'm returning to Lugh just in time.

I've been in Cemiess lately, trying to help my former master, Patron Narang, drum up some support for Lugh in the Imperial Senate. It hasn't gone very well so far. Patron Narang hasn't had much luck getting enough support among her peers to petition our Senator at Cemiess' Forum, let alone something to take up higher. It seems most people in the Empire consider your claims about the fate of your children to be mere hyperbole.

I do have another angle I'm planning on pursuing. As I've gained the favor of several Federation Governors, I've started seeing signs that the Governors of Hill Pa Hsi, Zeaex, LTT 4846, and Lugh are running an underground unregulated slave ring. And if there's nothing an Imperial Citizen loves more than rubbing the Federation's nose in the stink of their own hypocrisy.

Here's a picture I took of unregulated slaves being sold openly, to "trustworthy" commanders, at the docks of Mullane Port in LTT 4846.

Now, if I can get hard evidence of children of Lugh being sold at Hartsfield Market, it may be the lever we need to take this to the Imperial Senate. I doubt the Empire would be willing to recognize you, let alone give you official support, but it would gain you a lot of sympathy in the Federation itself.

(I'm assuming this is a bug, but this would be awesome if was intended behavior. First time I saw something like this, I forgot to take a screen shot. :( )

As economies heat up, manufacturing these needs and goods heat up. With newfound wealth and capabilities comes new 'products' to market. Thus slaves in 4846, personal weapons in Lugh, etc. I would hope our missing children are being sold rather than the whispered alternative.

Made four runs smuggling personal weapons into Hartsfield Market tonight. Kind of fun "speed docking," though I think the traffic controllers thought me mad. But then again, I do have a reputation for scraping the paint when landing there. Seems the sun keeps getting in my eyes. ;)

Made a few contacts with shadier side of the station while doing so, but no leads on the secret slave trade.

I was thinking of stripping and storing my Cobra for a while, and buy a Lakon Type 6. But with the Federation rattling their swords, I think I'll stick with something more... maneuverable, and heavily armed. :p

And today i noticed i had a Crimson paint for my eagle that i didn't have before. Hmmm... cant decide whether the Pirate paint or the Crimson paint looks better...

We have a strong presence of Federal players amongst us. They are frequenting the low level conflict zone around Lugh 2. We have names.
