Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

The Feds have completed teir 8. Global reward revealed is "Assault on outpost begins". I have not been able to observe any changes within the system yet. Has anyone else noticed anything?

Oooh! That sounds like we're going to actually attack a station! Maybe instead of taking over a station the Feds plan on destroying one.
I approve!

I've been killing Feds for CSG since the beginning. Only reason being that i hate the Feds (or imperials). I've freelanced for them just enough to know. Not sure how i feel about religious loonies who elect nobles but I've taken their money so far so...i'll keep taking it. 3.5 mliions or so of it so far and it smells just like any other, blood and tears, but at least I know who it's going to help and what it's going to fund, nothing but me and my ship.

But, if you've got a minute, pal, and really wanna know what i think well..... i think it doesn't matter who wins in Lugh because as long as there's people, there will be greed and the ones in power are always the greediest ones. Feds, Imperials, Alliance, Crimson state group. That never changes, just their names. Democracy, Monarchy, Communism, Capitalism, dictatorship, different names, same results. The people always loses, they are just the proverbial pawns. Power to the people they say, self governance they say, independence, free from the shackles of so and so. Always the same words, they talk about war as if it's gonna free YOU. As if it was for YOUR benefit, don't you see? They don't want war but it has to happen for you to be "free"!

Well it might free you of your own life for one. Other than that though, all you're doing is replacing one a-hole with another. That's the only truth in all this. It helps no one but them, the fancy talkers in love with their own words. Sons of Conn talks about leaders elected by the people working for the people having to answer to the people... How is that any different than any democracy ever? Than the Feds? Oh but they will have "honour" see. Well damn there's the magic word, the special ingredient that all government had always lacked isn't it!? They've cracked it after all those thousands of years those Conn folks! Their people see, unlike any other human being ever, will be dripping with honour! They will not know the stain of corruption! Well if you believe that, i've got a jumpgate to sell you. I say the moment there are people voting to elect others, there's corruption. That is where it begins.

And they're electing noble blood!? Already putting the boot to the common man right at the top. Slapping them across the face with their "salmon of wisdom". Well let me express my salmon of doubt. Their wisdom, like the salmon its contained within, stinks. In fact the whole thing stinks to high heaven. And speaking of heaven, never trust a man with a bible and a gun. I've been to the far reaches of the galaxy and back and there's one thing i know for a fact, pal, there are no gods. You know what I've found plenty of however, everywhere? Fools willing to kill in their names.

I know true freedom and I know true independence, "self governance". I experience it everyday in the cockpit of my ship. Out there, my life is mine alone. I belong nowhere and everywhere. That's how it was always meant to be. That Eamonn fella likes to talk about ancestors and their ways. Well that is how our ancestors lived, before that mistake they call civilization happened. If you're part of it, you've already lost your freedom. And that, pal, is the truth. ::downs drink and walks out::

For a minute there I thought you were doing an Op-ed on world history but, I suppose you are, just a thousand years or so in the future, on a galactic scale. :D

CMDR Cillian Raynor sounds like one of those crazy old drunk guys in the pub/bar who rants on to anyone who is sitting near him, then he leaves and everyone else turns to each other thinking, W T F ???
Have some rep CMDR Cillian Raynor, it was a nice read :)

Those crazy old drunk guys who rant to anyone near are usually drunk and ranting because they've seen too much of the truth and are drunk enough to waste their breath trying to get those that haven't to see it ;)

I'd buy him a drink.

I'm not sayin I understand all the "political implications" those suit-people are babblin on about. Never had a big interest in politics to be honest, never had much use for it either, bein as I was stuck on some backwater empire moon crushing rocks all day 'till I won me this old sidewinder in a drunken gamble last week. Can nobody say the Imperials don't pay their debts , eh?

Anyway, let me tell you about my time at Lugh, heard some talk about a military freighter and easy credits on this reddit site, thought I'd take a look. Did something like fifty jumps in a Viper to get there too, fun times.
So I look at this convoy beacon I've been hearing about, and as soon as I arrive there's a bunch of commanders in vultures boostin at me, screamin' about declaring a side. Told them to stick some things deep into some other things and looked for the carrier, I don't care about a side, I'm just here for the cash. To make it short, they shot me, didn't even finish the job, trashed my thrusters and left me drifin' for the Navy to finish off. Bastards!

So now I'm out 150 grand, sittin in a replacement that smells like old feet and wonder how easy money can get expensive real quick.
Well I went back, shot two of the vultures enough to make them run away and filled my hold with military canisters somebody else shot out of that cargo hatch. Not sayin' I'm proud of that one, but I got bills to pay.
I'm about to drop back at Hartsfield when the sirens start blarin and I'm bein' interdicted by some Fed-Navy that starts givin' me fancy talk about "military business", then rams directly into me as I spin around. Bastards!

Well, I wasn't in the best shape on account of those vultures, so now I'm out 300 thousand and the insurance clerk starts lookin at me like I'm the idiot.
Made almost four million sellin Fed-secrets since then, still not sure 'bout those sun worshippers, but I'd put a groundhog in a tuxedo on the throne just to piss on the Federation at this point.
Bastards!

He also argues with a system that sprung from its own source, from the very people themselves. Not a ruler or a soul beneficiary of any kind. A system that worked and perfected itself for THOUSANDS of years. Proof in itself that it worked. Please, before you speak, at least know something about what you are talking about.

Don't fly into a war zone and expect to be ignored. When I see a commander drop into a combat zone, I'll chase him down until he declares, or if Im in a dogfight I'll at least keep a wary eye on him, especially if he starts following me or my wing. An un-declared commander is a can of instant death.

M Brookes posting over at the Mikunn thread:

A heads up that we're going to tweak how wars work in an update soon. The current system means that with wars the minor factions lose too much of their influence and allowing non-combatents to swallow that influence. We'll change it so the warring factions can only cannibalise each other for the duration of the war.

fight on!

We need everyone to get out there and collect those cannisters now!

Stop fighting for combat bonds.

The cannisters are our main priority!

We need to hit that goal today. Stop what you are doing and get out there. We need to work twice as hard. We can still do this but the time is NOW!

Anyone feels like posting an update on the state of the community goals for those of us who cannot sit in their cockpits ?

The reason? Please explain yourself. I've managed to soloed some canisters, but I'd prefer to know the intel behind your petition :)

Viva la revolución!

The Lugh Herald:
The battle for Seega Port Begins

Federal marines have launched an attack on Seega Port.

The crimson state group holds the advantage in terms of terrain and weaponry. However, the Federation have now cut off all outside support from reaching Seega port.

Fighting on the outpost is said to be more or less deadlocked at this point, with CSG troops fighting desperately to stop the federal marines from breaching the outpost's dock

Stay tuned to the Lugh Herald for more information as it becomes available.

This. I've only collected around 60 so far and I'm already in the top 40%. More people need to work on Dullahan, it barely seems to be moving. The best thing is you also get combat bonds! I've made over 6 mil just from yesterday evening and this morning, with canisters and bonds together.

The reason?

From what Galnet says, this goal is our chance to expose a potential weakness in the Federation strategy and give the CSG an edge in the war. And with the first Federal ground assault launched on Seega Port and the imminent arrival of a second capship in Lugh, we will absolutely need it. In fact, reaching the maximum tier for this goal might be our only chance to win the war (we cannot compete with the Feds in bond farming while they have capships around doing the work for them, no matter how hard we try).
