It seems you can't win on that one... We stuck with Crimson State Group ourselves so that people would know which NPC faction to support, but then many people thought that the whole Lugh story was just about NPCs...
I shifted about 3000 tons of high demand goods round trip out of either Hartsfield and Knight in my Space Cow before one of my little traders came into the cockpit looking green. I think he must have caught something in Belarsuk. Long story short, I have some cleaning to do around the pilot's chair.

They are our primary employers but when other groups ask us to work with them they contact us, not the Dukes.
You wouldn't dial up the US department of Defense if you wanted to contract a mercenary group based in America.
We do work for them but we are not them, nor are we their military. They have system defense for that.
We are just contractors who live there and have an ongoing contract with the Dukes.

Anyways, sorry if it seems like I'm being a bit too seriously. I look at what happened in Lugh, where a decent amount of commanders who don't lurk the forums that much showed up thinking that the CSG was just some villain faction created by Frontier. I ran into scores of Federal commanders who were not aware that there was a player group involved because they don't go on the forum.
It bugs me for the Mercs (player group) actions to be attributed to the Dukes (NPC faction) in galnet because it could confuse people into thinking the Dukes of Mikunn are just another plot speedbump written by Frontier. Plus, it'd be nice for our bothers and sisters in arms to get credited when they've worked their tails off in Lugh ;p
