You dont get your money back when your gamble doesnt pay out. That isnt how gambling works. Not even sure if you are being serious...They can make good on the LEP in two ways, they can supply the product (their stated, if protracted intention) or offer to reimburse the customers not happy to accept the changed timescale. No hard feelings, the plan changed & it just didn't work out.
Instead the only info we have is a result of customers chasing up progress, and the majority of the bitterness is in the mind of other customers. I have spoken to FDev in person about this, they were extremely conciliatory and apologetic. They don't see it as a lottery ticket at all.
Well, he was the lead designer indeed.#FDev365.com
Lab-BROOKES.com <==== it couln't be could it?
who saw that coming?
Thanks, I'm fine. That is disingenuous of you. If you see a pitch for a game yet to be developed, and buy a 'discount' on presumably multiple DLCs, price unknown, all un-announced with no estimated year or decade of deliver: you are gambling. You may have high hopes, but it is still a gamble. And if you sincerely do not understand that is a gamble, I recommend hiring someone to manage your finances.
You didnt get any of that? They gave four examples of stuff they would try to give: non atmo, atmo, space legs, executive ships. Thanks, I'm fine.
This isn't about money, but trust and reputation. I'd have happily spent more money on Elite during the last couple of years, if I had gotten the content they talked about. You said "They said they wanted to do a number of things, they did some of them" and I'm not sure I fully agree with that.
Yes, they talked about stuff they wanted to do, but we didn't really get any of that. Instead we got Powerplay, CQC, Engineers, etc.
If I look back at those videos during the KS, I'm not sure I am the one who's being disingenuous here.
I'm not implying any malice on Frontier's part, but I think it's fair enough for me to voice my opinion that I'm not exactly happy with how the last couple of years went for Elite.
Telling me it's all my fault for not being able to manage my finances is just an unnecessary insult.
I concurof course another way would be to make the next update free to LEP holders and charge everyone else £75 for it, Then the LEPs could claim they have their moneys worth
The DLC will cost £100 on initial release to consume the LEP value not yet allocated then will be reduced to £20 a fortnight later to encourage people to actually buy it.
Those paintjobs are pretty nice, I agree on the bobbleheads though. The apology that went with it meant more to me than the free stuff. This is a bit of consumer isue as it was one of the features of the LEP, as it now stands they try to avoid every thing with some paintjobs and bubble heads no one would buy in the first place.
Frontier don't have to provide anything specifically for LEP holders, just not charge us when the next paid release comes along (and access to the beta of course).Beyond that, I think that the LEP ship has sailed. I would guess that a high, and getting higher, install base of Commanders do not have the LEP and as such mean that Frontier can no longer provide something specifically for them.
It should be banned in Belgium - LOLFrontier don't have to provide anything special for LEP holders, just not charge us when the next paid release comes along (and access to the beta of course).
Hmm, I wonder. Are Frontier more concerned by those having the occasional moan about the LEP or those suggeting they're running an unregulated gambling site? Hmm
1. Beyond was not paid. You only for Horizons as part of your LEP.Not everybody paid full price for the LEP. I optioned it during the Kickstarter campaign and as such only paid about 40 pounds extra for the LEP. So in my case I already got my moneys worth with the Horizons and Beyond updates. YMMV.
And by the way, the only thing the LEP promised was that all future updates for Elite Dangerous would be given to you free of charge, nowhere did it state when updates would be released. Updates take time to make, so badgering the developers because you feel you are entitled to new updates NOW is very disingenuous.
