If I wasn't already a premium beta backer , I would have bought the LEP. Even with my whining about powerplay and background sim, I can't deny the allure of the game. I'm sure I will be dipping in and out of this game for years to come - it's just one of those games that will always be on the hard drive. Also, to see the excitement of the team is pretty irresistible, they seems like a great group who just want to do the best they can, with a CEO who actually plays the games they make. They seem worthy of support.

I'm PBB, but just bought the LEP as a show of support.

You can always use the line the wife gives me at the sight of a 50% off shoe sale, "Think of the money we'll save if we buy the pass."

Her current reasoning goes along the lines of "Something, something, kids birthdays coming up, something something, blah, blah, car Registrations, yadda, yadda, council rates etc etc etc".

Congrats @OP nice to see some positive support for the game. I pretty hyped as I truly believe this will fix the boring part of ED.

Unfortunately my financial director won't approve the capital expenditure for the lifetime pass but she has begrudgingly approved the purchase of EDH.

I once got a piece of advise and it hold so true,

if you ask permission you get denied and get grief about it...

if you buy it and ask forgivness then you get the purchase and a little bit of grief ..

Same boat here, if nobody sees me for a week, my wife has killed me because i am going down the forgiveness route...

Wow....I got in last year on July 29 2014, right before the original standard beta plus lifetime expansion pass offer expired. I paid a total of $125 USD ($75 USD for the Beta, and $50 USD for the lifetime expansion pass). I just signed in to my store account and the lifetime pass is now....$195 USD!!!!!!! And the Horizons Expansion pre-order price is $59.99 USD. I am SOOO happy that I took the risk last year to buy in when I did.

Precisely... Your investment has produced the dividends promised... It will continue to do so and you will feel even more elated with each new expansion. For those who were not able to get in, the opportunity to purchase a lifetime expansion pass is once again available for a limited time. If you like this game and spend a lot of your time playing it... You know you are going to buy the future expansion packs... Why not pay now to enjoy them at a discounted price and enjoy each expansion with early beta access to get the jump on the other commanders who have to wait for the full release.

i have no problem supporting Frontier's development team in this manner... Very much preferable to the monthly subscriptions of other mmo's...Can you imagine what a bummer it'd be if they allowed real world money to purchase credits? It's nice knowing that those who have an Anaconda did it by their own efforts... Would not be so palatable if everyone who could drop some cash come straight out of the gates with an a-rated Anaconda.

To each their own... This game is what you make it... Its value is purely relative to the personal enjoyment you receive out of it. What's nice is that no one is forcing you to land on planets or do any of the further game expansion elements... If your cup of tea is to continue in space doing what you are currently doing, then aye... Sip on.

I'm excited to be able to have full access to all expansions and beta early access for each... I'm very glad Frontier once again opened up the opportunity to buy into their elite owner investor club... I know full well that the price I just paid for a lifetime expansion pass will save me money in the long run versus paying for each expansion pack... So worth it.

Live Life Without Regret: Proud new owner of ED LEP

A beautiful investment for those of us who didn't get on board until after released, another chance for those who were skeptical when offered before... You will get your money's worth, you will never have to pay for another expansion, you will gain early access to each expansion via beta.

What are you waiting for? Woulda, Coulda, Shoulda... Take the plunge! You won't regret it.

Hoping the following is helpful to those in the owner's club & those still contemplating becoming such:

Nice post. Thanks. I'll add a link to there on the first post too.

When I consider how much I have spent on add-ons for flight simulators as well as the various incarnations of MFS and X-Plane, the cost of the lifetime pass pales into insignificance.

Indeed, just did some quick math, about $900 tied up in Elite Dangerous peripherals. Hmmm, I did need to re-think my life decisions :p

Also joining the cool kids with beta access, and stumped for a few paint jobs despite my feelings about paying for customisation. <- Spent too much time on the Saints Row series, Bioware and Bethesda games. Theres a lot to be said for being able to make your ship/character unique, I think I spent longer on the SR2 character builder than I did in game :p

Yeah also for me its a lot of cash on a gamble. Im at 780 hours at the moment. I figure if I get up to 1500 hours after all is said and done I'll have paid ~£180 so effectively £0.12 per hour! Much cheaper than that gentlemans club on Lave Station...

Well, between buying the game last 2/2015 and grinding my way to a Python finally - and spending over $200 (total) with the (u)LEP included, I guess I'm "all in" and hangin' with the 'cool kids' too.

Funny, The game's a LOT more expensive than the original in the 80's - but I...errr....didn't pay for it. And played it for bazillions of hours. So I guess this is my 'penance.' I paid-up, DB - with interest! ;)

Boy am I glad I got mine during the Kickstarter campaign. This is finally what I have been waiting for to make Exploration what it should be. Starting with dead rocky planets is just the beginning. I can't hardly wait for all planets to become landable.

Sweet, I got the LTEP during Kickstarter or shortly thereafter for $50. Great deal, especially as beta access now seems to be confirmed as an additional goodie!

Missed this at KS by a day (typical)

So just brought it for my main account

Now in a dilemma I want a second commander so i can play pirate without wreckin my glorious imperial navy career (and FD seem to have gone quiet on the second commander slots)

So do I spend another £130 on buying it on steam to have 2 separate accounts

Or wait and hope FD grant us extra commander slots
