I went that route because I wanted to purchase the Beta when I had already purchased the pre-order. They refunded my money for the Horizon pre-order and gave me store credit in the same amount. Hopefully they'll remove the store credit as the refund money is on my account and I don't want to cheat anyone. Which I would feel like I was doing if I kept both the refund and the store credit.

I'm sure that one of the support guys previously said it would likely be available up until release (but as ever could not guarantee this). It's disappointing they are withdrawing it so early but I'm not surprised. I had hoped to delay purchase as long as possible (I have an offset mortgage, every little helps!). They'd better have something to show before 14 Sep otherwise a lot of people will be put off purchasing.
I wonder if there will be some form of announcement as promised (see below) - maybe something in today's newsletter.

You would hope so. Surely even FD realise that not all players still 'have the faith' to buy blind. But if not, then the choice seems obvious to me: buy the lifetime pass, or walk away for a few years, and pick up a pile of stuff for next to nothing. The choices in between seem much more expansive.

Well, 35 pounds versus 120 pounds are quite a difference isn't it.
I think it is hard to make sweeping conclusions, I suspect they have planned this being short period anyway. Of course, it sale would be disappointing we would see extension of this, however I guess they got aprox. as much as they expected.
It is all pure speculation at this stage. They presumably expect another pile of people to buy between now and the deadline: deadlines are intended to focus the mind of those that are undecided. I just hope they give a little more information about what is coming, in season 2, at least.
Yeah, when they stopped to sell expansion pass last time, they published a bit specific info about expansions themselves. I hope they will do same this time too. While I am bit skeptic about footage, fingers crossed - sooner FD shows it, more people will be convinced (or not) to buy pass.
There is nothing in that promotional image that states once it is pulled it is forever gone.
