ED has massive potential to be an award winning game but it has a lot of issues from bugs needing fixing and what other players state as lack of content.
I think the PvP multiplayer element is good but the single player part seems to be a weakness.
A possible fix to the single player part of exploration would be really breathtaking next gen graphics that would probably demand player investment into their pc rigs.
Another would be to have a Grand Theft Auto element of gameplay where you can become more wanted as you commit crimes or play various side missions that lead to some sort of story.
I personally would like to have the game allow for players to post bounties against other players and pay whatever amount they nominated once another player or NPC claims the kill.
Similar to when a faction posts a bounty except it is done by other CMDRs out of spite or fun.
This could fix the griefers and pirates.
Another thing to consider is that illegal missions should be made more profitable but with an added element of space detectives or bounty hunters that will start to track and hunt down a player after a certain trigger is reached like a wanted level or after a set amount of attacks on a faction.
Also a hot-potato element in the gameplay like a certain item that is sought after by all players.
This item is beneficial if you have it on you but it gives of a certain scan signature that other players will pick it up and want to take it off you.
The line between order and anarchy is a fine line.
Also, it would be nice if FD could record and use actual player community voices and use them to add a huge variety of voices for the in-game space station flight controller voices.
It sorta breaks the immersion hearing the same voices when you request docking.
Anyway, here is to hoping that ED keeps getting better.
