List of wishlisted animals

Hey, so i already posted a thread because i badly want otters and platypus in PZ, but there's much more i would like to see so i took the time to set up a list. Besides the crane, this list does not include birds as i'm still not sure there will be birds in game (aviary), but as a bird lover i could make a special bird list if it's confirmed. The list also doesn't included any aquatic only animals as aquarium are not confirmed too, but could do a list for these water folks too if they're coming in game.

Great list!

Would only add a few for NA:
  • Moose
  • Raccoon
  • Skunk (guests can enter habitat - lol)
  • Red Fox
Idk why i forgot moose!
I love racoon but i didn't put it in the list since tanuki is basically a japanese coon, tho with the amount of big cats with in game with some relatively close (bengal/siberian tigers) why not having tanuki and coon? :p I guess this would'nt cost too much work, i'd be surprised if they didn't use the same asset for both tigers and had to do it from scratch two times.
I'm in for skunk too! And for foxes yea i didn't add it to the list because i'm not sure it's the kind of animal you expect to see in a zoo but this is probably biased because there's a lot of wild fox where i live! Plus that's be an animal that's almost everywhere on the north hemisphere. :)

Love your list and the addition others made. :)
I would never have thought of some of those, even if I love them. Can you imagine what cute noises common marmoset would make in game?

The bias is definitely real. When some family from Barbados come visit in Canada, they're intrigued by the local wildlife - but I think of them as pests. Likewise, when I visit them, I'm chasing green monkeys all over the island for good pictures.

I would like to recreate Yellowstone National Park some day, so I'm hoping some more North American wildlife gets added! I would be happy with any of these, please and thank you. I wasn't sure if Aviaries will ever get added, but I figured what the heck I'll post some birds. :)

Agreed - South America (habitat animals) also, desperately.

As for aviaries. Yes to this too, also desperately. I'm sure there's one or two American players that are crying silently for the appearance of the Bald Eagle.

Why the Eurasian lynx over the Iberian lynx though? Iberian lynxes are endangered and therefore far more interesting in this game. (They also look prettier :p)

Vs the Eurasian lynx that is a least concern species:

Don't get me wrong, I love all the cats. I'd like a zoo filled with all the cats. But given the devs (probably, wink wink) won't add all of them, they'll have to make choices and I'd rather they go for the Iberian lynx.

I'll take your "pretty" Iberian lynx and raise by two "cute" Eurasien ones! ;)

The coservation status is actually the least of my concerns, when it comes to my whish-list of animals. There are already quite a lot "common" animals in PZ.

My selfish reason for an Eurasian lynx is:
a) I want to build a "Bavarian Forst National Park" with as many local animals as possible.
b) I want to watch the lynx wading in knee-deep snow, using his incredible fluffy paws as "snowshoes". The Iberian lynx probably doesn't like snow.

I will say you missed out quite a few important animals on your list.

Amur leopard: One of the most endangered big cats in the world and whilst Tigers, Lions and Cheetahs are fairly well represented, the Leopards are reletively left out of the game.
Fennec, Darwins or islands fox: Whilst yes you say foxes are quite well spread over the northan hemisphere, that is only one or two successful species, the sad truth is that a lot of foxes and canids in general are endangered and at least two species of fox are near extinction.
Iberian Lynx: As one of the major success stories of conservation that brought back this species from near-extinction, this really deserves a place over the Eurasian Lynx.
Scimirtar horned Oryx: Extinct in the wild, but it is a staple of zoos and Safari parks the world over.

Next we come on to two that hold a special place in my heart and whilst yes we do have two wolves in game already, I feel these two really need adding for their own particuular reasons.
Maned wolf: This for me is one of the most unique canids out there, there is nothing else like it and it occupies its own branch on the canid evolutionary tree. It has a diat of mostly plant or fruit with some meat, is mostly solitary, yet is monogamous with the pair staying within the same territory, but staying away from eachother outside of breeding season, it is different enough from the wolves that it wouldn't cause a crossover.
Ethiopian wolf: One of the rarest and most endangered canids in the world. Whilst I do agree we have two wolves already, this one I feel should be added for conservation valeue.

I looove your list, but we have Polar Bear with the Arctic DLC ?

I would add the Prewalski's Wild Horse and sea lions in the wishlist !
Thanks, i have edited the post for the polar bear.

I will say you missed out quite a few important animals on your list.
I'm not really missing anything it's just my personal wishlist and i've put in this list animals i like the most regardless of their status (there's a lot of "least concern" in my list). There's definitly some cool species in your list tho! Thanks for the suggestions!
