Livestream schedule - Beyond Chapter One content reveals (dates, content and time)

Doesn't matter either way to me, I'm at work when these come out and we block both sites. I have to watch the deadstreams when I get home.

Just watched the stream ... work and family get in the way sometimes.... Love the mining change, the engineer fix, the galnet and well pretty much everything on the stream... Well done FD ... still lovin it !!!!

Good live steam and many of the features are appealing.
The engineer change is more streamline but i fear the increase weight to collecting materials could set this change back.
The vast amount of time now spent collecting material for all grades for all modules feels like a time sink into activities most CMDR's will find boring or repetitive.
An example i can pull is looking for high grade emissions for rank 4-5 materials is numbingly boring.
So in addition to this CMDR's will also need to stock up on lower grade materials which requires more mindless roaming in an SRV following signals and dropping into more signal sources to pick up materials we normally skip.
in the current mechanic i spend 3-4 hours just to collect 20 chemical manipulators for FSD increase.
With the new system i have to focus more time collecting low grade material in abundance in addition to the above just to achieve the same results.

The material trader is a diminishing return time sink as CMDR's burn low grade material for higher grades, which still requires time to grind out.
Still a better option then what we currently have but not quite the right answer to the solution.

Add material to the base activities CMDR's use.
Missions - yes have material rewards but need increased. not 1 material per mission.
Traders - No means to collect material
Piracy - No means to collect material
Bounty Hunting - Yes you can collect material if you stop hunting and scoop up debris from downed ships. not a common feature used during such activities.
Exploration - Yes in an SRV or stopping to look at the USS, which most explorers are looking for planet types.

Materials are becoming more valuable then credits as the use of engineers becomes more widely used. The new trade market for rare goods should be in materials at this rate.

Potential solution:
Scanners - proved them an option to search for materials by type. could even give use to the intermediate and basic scanner by giving them better ability to locate material over the advance.
Have materials on planet services not so random but spawn biased on surface appearance/color or land formations. So the CMDR can eyeball where to land to find materials of a type.
Hacking Limpets - that can be used on apposing ships to raid the ships computers to force download data used in engineering. Why is information piracy not a thing?
would also be nice to see these type limpets used to shut down a subsystem for a time.

Just finished watching the last one and I have one thing to say to Ed and co. re: chapter one ... NAILED IT!

Chapter one is a really terrific set of improvements, not a single dud in the entire set. I had my concerns over some of the changes .... soz, back in a mo, it's pi55ing with rain here.

Sorry about that, I was sat outside a cafe and it started to absolutely tip it down, where was I? Oh yeah, concerns.

So engineering changes was obviously the contentious one (I know Ed was worried interested to see the reaction). I dare say the naysers voices will start to float to the top now but when I first went on to the forums last night the initial reaction, especially from a few people who I would have expected to be negative, was overwhelming positive! Personally I think it looks much cleaner and more elegant and efficient and will be a definite improvement on the old system for the vast majority of the ED player base.

I was also fairly dismissive of Galnet audio. Right from the announcement at the expo I just thought meh, I can already do that with VoiceAttack and ED Toolbox. But actually seeing/hearing it on the stream last night? Brilliant. Good move showcasing some of the different languages too. I have to say you guys have done a terrific job with the voice synthesis, really top quality stuff (reminds me of when the avatar creator was first showcased - a new area of game development for Frontier, or at least for what we've seen in ED, something that's been done well by other software companies in the past, but Frontier proved themselves to be right there at the leading edge of what's currently on offer). Well done guys!

And new voices for the ship! That's very cool and I love that we can have different voices for different ships and/or the SRV. Quick question - was Victor voice acted or was it done using the new voice synthesis? I honestly couldn't decide (which is testament to the quality of the Galnet Audio voice synthesis that we heard).

I also wanted to give a shoutout to Ed - last night's stream was an absolute masterclass in game developer livestreaming - hosting, dealing with the chat, interviewing Sandy, piloting the ship, mining, playing videos and generally multi-tasking the hell out of it. Bravo Ed, that was a class show!

Oh and finally, the bingo card? Well mine looks something like this!

I think they did mention the Loach once.

I just wonder how will it work once the novelty wears off, because the Galnet nowadays is mostly copy paste articles about CG's , I hope there will be more stuff there as it sounds amazing :)

I like the GA feature, but not a fan of the text-to-speech engine though. It makes it frustrating to listen to because it doesn't .. ya .. take breaths. :p

Did I miss any?

I'm pretty sure Loachie was there.

Well done FD I think you've knocked the ball out of the park here. Ill miss the secondary affects and capacity for uniqueness of the current engineers but on balance the changes will be far more accessible to the majority of people. I don't think it will be as feel as laborious as people fear it will.

The QOL improvements are more than welcome giving more utility to mining, every little helps. I'm now looking forward to taking a keelback into the belts and giving it a go again, something I haven't done since i needed resources to unlock engineers.

The galnet audio voices are the best and most natural digital voices i've ever heard (not that i've really gone listening around) and i was struck by how immersive it felt listening to the articles in the cockpit, even watching vicariously on the livestram last night.

Plus we get to explore the gorgeous new planetary changes in our shiny new super fast, super maneuverable Chieftains which also make a perfect testbed for the engineering changes.

Im well happy, this is breathing allot of new life into the game for me.

All the best team, and thanks again.
