CMDR Ed Geiger, currently heading to the biggest tourist trap in the Galaxy (Sag A*). However, my system-scanning OCD may stop me from getting there anytime soon! At the moment in deep space, Thaileia QC-G B3-2 System. Listening to a mix of electronica and movie soundtracks on my ASP's stereo system. Would love to join the list. :)

I have a LONG way to go yet. Just starting out on my journey. All of the systems I am working through at the minute are previously discovered and/or populated.

Please don't be offended if I don't accept friend requests...my role-play character doesn't share any data about his location that could be useful to his rivals...and I see we all turn green on the Galaxy Map! Perhaps I have missed the point of this thread then? If I have, sorry. I am saying "Hi" anyway.

A lot of players play in Private or Solo exclusively, where not only they cannot be seen by other players, but they themselves cannot see other players in modes other than their own. However, you can still easily chat to people on friends lists regardless of their choice of mode.

Just setting out into the black for my first trip toward a somewhat mysterious star I've observed IRL. Only 2k, just a test really so there and back to upgrade and adjust before a big trip. Feel free to add me!

Have any of you fellow explorers had a problem scanning

I am having to scan some objects twice, the DSS scans and says completed but i get no details it then starts again goes throught the scan i then get a completed scan

It is taking a bit longer i wont mind if i am getting double credits but i cannot imagine i will.

DSS is 100% in modules

I've been having that for a few days now too. Usually it's a server glitch. I'm sure it'll all be sorted once work starts up again on Tuesday.

Also I've had to scan the system twice in a few cases last night. I just put it down to damage taken. Though in the past I've had similar amount of damage in the past but FDev like changing things to spice it up so who knows. It keeps exploring fresh :D

Just 3692Ly to go to Sag. A*. Yeay me!


Had a good day today, apart from finding 3 or 4 black holes, and a heap of neutron stars, I also found 5 Earth-like worlds.

Of course, I did have to do a 175k, and a 245k Ls trip to get to two of those respectively....

im currently floating about only 11,600 ly from sol in the Preae Aihm OI-K region listening to the Solaris soundtrack. feel free to add me to one of the many voices inside my head right now.
the voice of my AI Computer is sounding hot these days, bad sign!

Say, which do you think is a better place to get to the roof: the galactic core, or more towards the edge, closer to home? Besides the distances involved in getting there, that is. Does the galaxy look better from above (or below) if you're at the center?

From the centre, it's like climbing to the top of a mountain and looking down on everything all below you, while from the edge it's like flying overt a vast ocean and looking back at the land you leave behind. Personally, I prefer the former, but it's all personal choice.

Oh it paid off then? You were telling me about a long SC to get to a possible.

Yeah I get the dss glitch occasionally. I also don't feel like I can trust the ADS anymore when the detailed scanner is on the fritz. It will honk, nothing pops up. Only at the second honk suddenly a bunch of stuff appears when I'm already about to leave.
It's either the server or your connection. I get it more often during prime time, and when my wifi decides to take micro naps.
