Newcomer / Intro Looking for some good Beginners Guides

Hi Gamers,

Just thought I'd open a new thread for this one, I was hoping if some people could contribute to this.

Looking for any material or guides (decent) on an introduction to this game? I know its a pretty expansive game and I do have some experience playing Eve so I have a fair idea how these space sims go and don't expect a guide to cover everything.

In this case I'm looking for a good guide that would introduce you to the fundamental aspects of this game. I know there are some official videos but they cover the bare minimum of flight controls/combat and not the economics and careers paths .

There are some useful links on the sticky list. The Sidewider guide is very handy for example. Truth is I am in the same boat, I've played EVE and many other space sims over the years, but I'm trying to figure out a path to follow in ED that will help me explore the game in a sensible way without too much grief. I have a Sidewinder and have run a couple of courier missions but what would be the logical next step? If I wish to try exploration what do I need to equip and how do I go about it? The Frontier video on exploration is not sufficient for example. Another example is how does insurance work? If I park a ship at station X and get blown up in a system across the galaxy how do I get back to it? I have a long list of questions.
