Losing positional tracking - Am I the only one?

Hi all,

Ive recently started to occasionally lose positional tracking when playing. It usually happens just after I arrive in a station or in supercruise after that planet stutter glitch that occurs then, but it can happen anytime really. Once the tracking goes I need to switch from extended to direct, then back to extended again to get it working. This has started only recently within the last week or so.

I tried iRacing and it seemed fine no problems. I also updated to the latest Oculus SDK but that didnt help either.

I'll submit a ticket but just wanted to see if this is unique to me or if anyone else has noticed this or had this happen to them?

I have had this issue a couple of times early on, but never since I moved my connections over to a powered usb hub

A few suggestions is to lift off the cap from the front of the unit and make sure the cables are firmly in position
If you don't have a powered usb hub try moving to a different usb port on your motherboard

Ahh ok right, I didnt think of that. Thanks for the tip mate!

edit: It's odd that this is only happening in Elite though. If it was a usb issue wouldnt it happen with other games also?

Who knows what witchcraft ED is using, it could be software related, it could be hardware related ????

But i defo recommend a powered usb hub, I did read somewhere either on here or the Oculus forum that it did help with tracking/stuttering issues
