Hi all,

I lost my job just over a week ago, kind of out of the blue. :(

I'm a skilled C# .NET / SQL developer based in Cheshire with about 17 years of industry experience in a variety of disciplines including Agile, MVVM, MVC and others.

I know there's a lot of developers who read these forums, so this is just a wild card check to see if anyone is hiring.

Cheers,

Good luck with the job search, hopefully your experience will be nothing but a blessing in disguise. Keep flying Commander!

@Juniper Losing your job sucks, my sympathies. Look at it this way, you have lots of free time to play the Premium Beta :D

The worst thing you can do is look for a job two dimensionally, check other countries also. People are so scared to move around this big planet.

That's fine if you're on your own - far less easy if you have a young family, a mortgage with zero equity, etc. :(

Thanks for the good wishes guys. Got three interviews lined up over the next few days (one is a 2nd interview) so looking more hopeful. :)

Good luck with it. I have lost a few jobs unexpectedly, and found a few jobs unexpectedly too.
Finding jobs, like losing them, is just a matter of time.
:)

Here's a thing:

I was hit up by a recruiter a couple of weeks ago on LinkedIn (which isn't unusual) who had ended up with my email address after scanning my github (which is, at least in my experience). I wasn't aware that github was being checked by agencies looking for people but I thought it was interesting.

So if you've got a portfolio of stuff you can whack up on github (like any personal projects or stuff, obv) then you might want to think about that as a showcase as well.

Good luck anyways chief.
