Its easy to say that you have a game with advanced game functions - thill ppl starts to test them and can't really find any advanced systems...

braben used advanced logic to manipulate the definion of advanced from what we know to tech 10-15 years old....winks

I would like to make my way over to lugh to help the cause but would like to know what actions you guys want me to take / make when I am there?? I think it would be best if we make it clear what supporters should and shouldn't do to maximise the influence gain.

Check out the main thread here, Sim Star:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=71327

The tidbits given by the devs here are interesting, but most of the attempts to figure out how to manipulate faction influence are being worked out over in the main thread.

It can be a little daunting, sifting through both of these threads, given that there's a justifiable amount of frustration floating about, but as of right now it's a little difficult to tell if what we're running into are bugs or design decisions, and whether the design choices are good ones or bad ones. Unless the developers give explicit information on how to shift influence among factions (which I hope they never do), there is going to be a lot of ongoing trial and error as we try to figure it out.

yeah....its a joke
a fed faction and crimson are fighting for the lead of the system, only to lose influence and hand it over to a fed corporation.....

oh the irony

There's a civil war in Eravate at the moment with Conflict Zones and everything - or at least the last time I was logged in yesterday morning - and both of the involved factions have dropped from relatively high numbers to 0.1% influence.

Curious.

I can confirm this. I think something might need a bit of fixing up.

The whole influence system seems completely broken indeed. However, the powerplay update may be dedicated to power struggles between factions. I believe the whole system will see a massive overhaul or redesign with the next update.

It will be interesting to see if this turns into a 3 way war.

What are the current control %'s across factions? For me CSG and Lugh For Equality were at really low %'s, which was a bit surprising. I thought they were fighting for control over the system. It seemed to me that some completely uninvolved faction held control over Lugh. Is that actually the case or is the information passed from the server to my game bugged/wrong?

When I arrived in Lugh, went to the conflict zones and saw Crimson vs Equality something or other.. Had no idea it was a community event!

I'm a firm believer in Equality, so backed them.. Seems I went against the grain. Wonder how many did the same as me! lol. :D :D :D

Silver LTD is currently sitting at 88% control.. They're a Fed group... But are mostly* uninvolved as far as I can tell. If there is some depth to the simulation.. It may be a power play by Silver LTD to usurp power from both parties in their weakened states.

- having absolutely no Data or local News whatsoever auto-generated at the Stations/Outposts within that System doesn't really help either. Not one bit.
You'd think a System with a roaring Civil War would at least post Statistics and definite "Who's winning?" information on their Boards....

But CMDR FalconFly....

How could you possibly belive the propaganda!

It's fairly obvious the faction system is having issues with the intercession of the community goals. The only faction that has risen is Silver group. Why? Their NPC's reside within an area no one has interfered with. They are in our mining rings. As no one has messed with them, they have been able to slide up the polls. Looks like the Miner folks might win the faction war! Who knew! What it looks like from my point of view is that the factions that are fighting, are decreasing as no one is running missions, and the background sim is recording the outcomes of the killing. 2 coppers dropped!

We at Lugh are hoping everyone is having fun, making killer profits, and supporting us! For everyone playing within the system, your participation has been wonderful! Play hard, kill hard, have fun!
