Luxury run at TENCHE

Got my Clipper.

All I can say is... Oh my..... :D

Got a clipper, don't get the clipper love. Its better than a type-7 for trading, but mostly because of heat issues, you have to wait a few moments longer to jump in a type 7. Its mostly "meh" for combat due to bad hardpoint placement. People think it sounds good but the "woosh" sound on boost sounds like just a gimmick. Expensive to repair and very short range for jumps.

It does fit the Empire lore wise perfectly, so it gets points there.

I'd give it a "eh I'll take it" not an "oh my".

Nope. And that's not going to change, ever.

I know you are captain easy mode, but it would be rather trivial for them to add a third option which would be open only play. You can keep the current solo-open hybrid and have a "hard core" open only. The only people I could see having a problem with this would be those who want to make money in solo and then go griefing in open.

Oh? If smuggling counts towards Trader ranking I'm going to head back over.

I should be very close to Tycoon if it does count. Currently at 355M trading profit and 22M smuggling.

So lets see if smuggling boner pills makes the rank flip.

I dont think it does to be honest.

I have 320 million in regulars and 150 million in smuggled goodies and im still Entrepreneur.

No Tycoon yet but i do have a 24/7 boner so cant complain.

Ok, got the cash for my Anaconda.
Question time:
For the one that has been here for awhile, when did the boom start? I think there is hard cap of 3 week for boom, so if it's close I might not by the Anaconda here as my home route is 100 LY away and there's closer stations selling the Anaconda.

Do they sell the 6A FSD at Fan Horizons? Would like to know before purchase (can't check class 6 FSD with my ships) so I can actually move somewhere else quickly if needed.

I just checked and yes they have the 6A FSD in stock at Fan Horizons. Its a good outfitters, it hasnt got everything but its a solid place to start a ship build.

I switched to a fully upgraded A class asp once i made enough money in my Type 7 (it still took a while). Began pirating performance enhancers from traders between the station and the luxury traders. Felt bad at first, but after a few seconds it went away. Didn't kill anyone though, its just pointless unless they don't play along. Which nearly everyone did.

One guy, who i wish i could name, didn't and thought he was clever by saying he would drop cargo but boosting away while i was typing a reply, he tried to ram me too. He escaped, then he came back in his viper and i hammered him, followed him as he fled into SC, and then destroyed him.

Morale of the story, play ball i guess. When he was in his trader it was a type 7, and I only asked him for 15 out of 232.

Oh and don't underestimate asps, the A class ones are solid.

I heard lots of people creaming over the clipper. To be honest the type 7 was great for trading, not seeing a problem. Had a huge fuel tank for long trips, and much easier to obtain. I guess the main factor in getting a clipper or a type 7 is which ship you are going for next and how long you are going to be trading for it.

This last part about aother open only mode is an interesting idea and i agree with your sentiment about objections to it.

The station has some decent ship upgrades as well.

Yes i upgraded my asp to A class entirely at this station apart from scanners! Its a good one.

Thanks. So I got my Anaconda on full D diet + E2 FSD. I can only jump 0.33 LY fully laden, but since its job is ferrying boner pills to the other side of the planet, it'll do. When the boom is over & I haven't got my FSD money, I'll just return to my old route and run those on my Python until I can ferry the Anaconda back and refit my 100% mothballed fleet back to fighting condition. That's gonna occupy me for quite awhile (7 "cheap" ships will be quick, Asp gonna take awhile, Clipper and up & I'm not sure if it's worth fitting as combat ship...)

Came here in a Python a couple days ago. Got a T9 for a couple hours, then bought an Anaconda. I should've skipped that T9. :p

Hah, this is exactly what I did. Couldn't stand the damn T9. Such a crappy ship. Went in early on an Anaconda, everything stock except cargo space and smaller shield. Just enough cash left to cover a load of cargo and insurance. The thing couldn't jump a puddle. Now my Annie's fully trade-geared D everything and A6 FSD, along with enough money in the bank to buy another Python.

Gotta love Luxuries.

OP thanks so much for this route... I've went from T6 to Python in 2 days. It rocks! Now I just need a cure for carpal tunnel symdrome :)

As long as anybody in the community benefits from this post in any way, if it helps you get a new ship, if it helps you in your progression, if it helps you get some fun being pirate / hunter etc., then it vindicates my decision to announce the route and just that alone makes me very happy already. :D You're welcome.

Agreed. The T9 flies so badly it's bugged, IMHO. Compared to every other ship in the game, it's neither good nor fun, to me. It's just tedious, annoying, and frustrating.
And for myself? I'll happily fly around with 436 Cargo space in an Anaconda rather than fly a T9 with under 500 Cargo. For me, that ~60 extra cargo is not worth flying around in a drunken space whale on valium.

I see the system is in a boom but not seeing any traders. Is it over now?

edit: Never mind, for some reason I could not see the trader sites until I undocked.

Exactly. That thing was so painful to fly. I don't know how anyone could stand that for hours on end. It makes the T7 seem like an F-18 in comparison.

Michael B has mentioned that these lucrative events may be re-balanced as of the 1.1 update, better get out there and work that milk run commanders ;)

Popped over in my python a couple of days ago, made a few million and though I'd try a T9 to speed up the monotonous grind. Flew out of the station with a full load, changed my mind and requested docking permission to go back. Took a 10mcr loss on the T9 and got back in the python and went off to do more interesting stuff. The T9 is such a horrible ship to fly, I don't care if money trees grow out of it's exhaust ports!

I actually did own a T-9, after grinding my Clipper for quite awhile.... After flying it twice I decide it's not for me, so I sold it and bought the Python. The losses in resale value is nothing compared to the freedom I felt when selling it.

i am planning to keep my Python and Anaconda as a trader indefinitely while refitting all my ships up to Clipper for various purposes. Gonna use Clipper to have fun with class 3 weapons melting NPCs. With over 600k per trip I am loving the Annie.

Thanks for the heads up. Gonna make sure I make the most of what's left before them routes dried up faster after the patch

I just did the math. I am going to have to do 111 of these runs to upgrade to a clipper and still have enough for a few modules and insurance.

To the grind!

Same for me on the Python. Gonna buy a new Python today and work on outfitting it over the week, to use as a combat vessel while my Anaconda stays a trader.

Oh man, I was so close to returning the T9 for another Python after just a couple of runs. But I decided to stick with it as I was only about ~10mil away from an Anaconda. Couldn't even afford parts for the Anaconda when I got it; but anything to get away from the heaping pile of stink that the T9 was.

I pulled up to a guy at the luxury trade and asked him if there was any trouble, he said "nope, except the ships spawning." I said "good lol" and then did a double take and looked at the name I wrote down. It was the guy who killed me from behind with missiles yesterday! I grabbed my viper that I bought right after i was killed, but he was gone. I think i spooked him. Traded in the viper for a cobra ;)
