Luxury run at TENCHE

This is just the thing FD need to be promoting. A profitable trade route gets exposed, traders flock to the area but then it's rich pickings for the pirates which of course makes the bounty hunters show and then the Escorts - no, not sexy Amish cuties to take with you to a party but people you can pay with a cargo drop to safely escort their ship.

It's a pity FD didn't think bigger. From this the obvious progression is player owned systems and stations with jobs for "space traffic controllers" and "marines" (to board enemy frigates) along with "Fighter pilots" to patrol the systems. The we have player controlled faction wars along with trade routes they can set up and make alliances with people etc, etc, etc,....

Except that is totally not what is happening here. These RPK lose money as they do this, so after a few hours of killing traders, they jump into their own big trade ships, switch to solo mode and farm the route themselves.

I sure hope ED trading gets a lot more depth than constantly flying back and forth between a seeking luxuries trader that can apparently hold thousands of cargo units in his type 9...

Sorry, my mind started wandering after "Amish cuties" ......

Do you think my boss would understand if I told her "Hey, there's this star system experiencing an economic boom and trading for virtual Vie-agra is off the charts. Can I have the day off?"

What if that's what his answering machine says back to you? XD

It sounds like a Krogan conspiracy. Perf enhancers to counteract the genophage, so what do you get when you get lots of Krogans? War! :D

so now it is fixed.. ships disappear when u show up ... :p

Ha, noticing this too. Only happens with the closest luxury zone, though. I'm taking a break to see if it resolves itself. Had a couple of instances like this when I was in Kappa Fornacis, where the zone just keeps moving away from you.

If that was "crazy" profit bug that needed to be "fixed", what would a non-crazy credit grinding be? I'm currently in Type-6. In order to have type-7, i'd have to spend hours on this and i thought it's bad already.

The best normal route I had brings in the money at about half the rate this route brings you, if you manage can run this one as fast as I did or faster. The majority of other traders' routes are anywhere between somewhere around that to 50% of that, i.e. between 50%-25% of the rate of this route.

I did a few hours of this route yesterday. The station sells most ships, so I got an L7 just for this and it's already paid for itself even without considering resale value… This is a pure grind to be sure, credits for credits' sake, but there is a certain zen to it, getting progressively faster by optimising little things like when to boost and when to lock the destination. And I listen to panel shows on the iPad at the same time.

But even with a route like this it would be like a full time job to grind up to an Anaconda, which kind of highlights that the game is missing mid-level ships and/or high profit (and high risk) things for the big ships to do.

What is this route? I am only a few hundred LY from this location (25 jumps).

Beta Sculptoris system, Empire space. Fan Horizons station, 3kLs from primary. Luxury trader located at ~11Mms to station. Recommend you run this in solo mode due to high hostile player activity.

Mobius PVE group works as well, although it makes for less optimal times since multiple traders can slow down one another inadvertently by mass locking and competing for airlock access. But possibly more fun to see the activity on the route…

I'm only doing this until I have enough for a Python, I figure once I'm close I can sell the T7 and it's upgrades and my a-rated Asp.

How'd I miss his giant sig? :D *facepalm*

I'm normally flying an Asp as well, and have been struggling with the decision about whether or not to go for Python. However, I think I won't, since I really like the Asp's 27 LY fully laden (84 ton) jump range… And of course there is the incoming Python nerf, so I'll wait until then to see what it will be like.
