Luxury run at TENCHE

The most fun I have had trading in this game has been chasing ephemeral things like this (and rares during gamma). Which, ironically, means most of the time is spent on the forums not in game...

Do you think Frontier will learn from this?

Aaaannd I just bought/sold the last 57 PE's Wapiya had. Came back, still none available.

This station does not produce them fast enough or is importing them from someplace else in the background.

Still like my idea.. :p

Probably didn't have a high enough population to sustain it.

No. No planet would have enough population or wealth to sustain the kind of volume in Tenche or Beta. Ever. That's why I didn't even bother to check out Beta Sculptoris until I heard it's lasting for way longer than it should. The biggest pops replenish several hundred to one thousand supply every 20 minutes or so. You notice how long Wapiya lasts? That's a normal lux route. Most aren't worth bothering unless you're the only one running it.

Confirmed.. Wapiya PE Supply = 26 / low - price 7k

Could it be that they have 'fixed' it!?

This is probably how this should work. But you know that famous quote - "make me temperate and good, but not just yet" or something like that. I was kind of hoping to milk this a little longer, in fact i probably would not have sold my T9 to buy an anaconda yesterday if i didn't think i would be able to quickly upgrade a few more bits and bobs using the luxuries mechanic.

Oh well, not a biggy, can trade my way to A class thrusters instead :)

Yes this smacks of a by hand fix because the background system is not working quite right. The entire supply just vanished from one run to the next.

I think our efforts to prevent civil war in Tenche by running the luxury trades from Lunney have actually backfired and lead to a shortened availability of the luxury traders there.
In any case it appears that keeping a system in boom state is a bit like walking a tightrope.

Back to normal trading it seems, got an Anaconda with some nice upgrades and 50m in the bank from this.

I will attempt to confirm whether the infinite supply situation is still present in some of my normal route nodes. It's good that you guys checked, but Wapiya never had permanent supply according to my trade data.

Not quite. Please don't add speculation without facts. Michael said that a system would either transition into civil war, or stay for 3 weeks in economic boom. If it does not succeed in triggering civil war in 3 weeks, then boom state simply ends. This is all covered in the Dukes of Mikunn thread.

They should learn to stop removing the things that are fun to do!

I hear yeah with the rares. They really helped motivate me to travel around while having the sense of being rewarded. Too bad I assumed they would stay as part of the game and didn't get a chance to milk them. Oh well. Let's hope we find more fun things to do! :)
