Horizons make better fsd

It's just hoe the FSD is designed. It wouldn't make much sense to burn all fuel at once and be left stranded at the next star over.

With Engineers and FSD injections, you can make FSD much much better. I think the current record for single jump is something over 110LY which is not too shabby.
 
how can elite make fsd better in the future update. why can we use the whole tank to jump long distance at one jump what do you think

I don't really get what you're trying to say here. The entire gameplay experience in Elite is based on the current FSD mechanics and we've already gotten a massive boost in jump range with the FSD engineering mods. What you're suggesting is like a "teleport" effect where you can skip over large parts of the Universe map entirely which would make a large part of the gameplay irrelevant and would completely disrupt game balance. Elite isn't an MMO where you need a "quick" method to avoid walking around for hours, the entire point of the FSD jumps and range limitations is central to the various activities that are a core part of the game.

I think what BIG is trying to say is that it would be nice if FSD could jump its max distance for given fuel tank at once. I think once he's around for a while and gets the feel of the things, he'll see why it's not a good idea. :)

Yeah that's sort of what I was getting at. Asking why we can't make 100 ly jumps in the game is sort of like someone asking "Why do I need rank to buy a Clipper? Why can't I just buy it at the shipyard right now?" It's one thing to ask this type of question if you don't actually understand WHY the ship is rank-locked (i.e., not realizing that it's an Imperial ship) but it's another thing to ask why you can't just skip over core parts of the game entirely. I actually do think it would be interesting if they introduced a very region-specific type of "transwarp gate" like in Star Trek Online where you could go for example from one specific part of the bubble to another part with a destination gate. This could be useful to provide rapid travel in certain instances (such to facilitate a CG) without invalidating large parts of the game involving trade/exploration. This would obviously have to have a very long cooldown (i.e., 24 hours due to ship/FSD safety limitations) or be very resource-intensive (i.e., burning say 50 vanadium and 25 germanium at once) to avoid it being overused but it is an interesting concept to consider.
 
but just remember there will be future community goal to expand and it will be 2.000 ly away not all of us wont do 500 jump in a day just to get there only if they add a auto pilot fsd then i dont mind doing 500 jump to go to a place
