Making construction elements align perfectly

I’m really struggling with building. How do you make the individual construction items lock/perfectly align?

Construction items marked with a "#" on their icon can only be placed on a grid. So for example, walls must go along the line of the grid (either on the outside of the line or the inside of the line). While placing the item, click Z to see how the item rotates. Hold the shift key down to move the item up or down. Look down at the properties box in the lower right of your interface for more options (such as the amount the item moves up or down while holding shift).

I'm new to it myself, so I can confirm there's a learning curve. But I'm starting to get the hang of it after watching some videos and just playing around in Sandbox mode.

Hope that helps! Good luck!

I can’t see any grid and the walls I’m placing can go anywhere, they won’t lock precisely in place

I don't understad "grid" in this game anyway.
It seems it decides where the "grid" is for every single part seperatly.

Never played planco, but when i play a construction game with a grid, it would be nice it would be... well, only one grit i plan with.

My path one aligns to "grid", but path two has is on "grid" not to meantion every building seem, too.

This game and i have different opionions what a grit is, i suppose.

To get started on building, try this...
  1. Bring up the construction tab and select a wall. Click down in your world to place it: you'll get an orange/yellow grid which is your foundation to build upon.
  2. After you complete your structure, you can exit the build mode (look for the exit button in the upper right). Then: select the completed structure with your arrow.
  3. With it selected, click "X" to bring up the movement controls. (Red, Blue and Green arrows). You can then fine tune the placement of your structure. Click X again to rotate. You'll see a Checkmark in the movement controls which allows you to accept your fine tuning.
Here's a video that does a much better job at explaining it than I just did: Planet Zoo Building Tutorial

I think you're closer to getting this to work than you realize. Soon, you'll have all the basics down.

I thought as you did as well. But then I realized that by each item having it's own grid, I was able to construct pieces separately and bring them together precisely the way I wanted without being constrained by the grid dimensions. I sometimes get baffled by how the fine tune controls align with that grid, but I'm sure it's just me not fully grasping the mechanics.

I recommend searching Youtube for videos on Building in PlanCo. There are tons of them out there that explain and show what you are asking about. Thos process works exactly the same way in PlaZoo.

if u want to add a construction to a shop just double click the shop before placing down the walls. this enters the group edit mode so it lets you add things to the shops grid. same goes for any other construction thats already there

The construction in this game takes a lot of practice and trial and error.

At first, you can build anywhere, but as your start attaching to that initial building, a grid appears that aligns things properly to it. If you want to align to an existing building, select the building and EDIT. Anything you add to it afterwards then becomes part of it and it makes a grid.

When you exit that building and start a new construction, it counts as a new building and does not automatically attach to the building before.

It takes a lot of practice to get use to this sort of building.
