Mamba Speed Fix When??

as I said, it needs more maneuverability, the "rudder" responds slowly, and the lateral truster takes about 2 / 3sec to start to take effect and is still weak.

Now that it can only boost half as often relative to it's first incarnation, it's sluggishness except in forward or reverse is all the more apparent.

I don't want them to just blanket buff maneuverability as that would push it closer to copying the FDL's feel, but improving the translationals while leaving the rotationals alone, could be a nice fix. No other combat ship we currently have heavily favors translational over rotational agility, except for the Viper IV. The original FDL was close, but even it became predominantly rotational with the 1.5 buff and later Engineering.

So you cannibalized your FdLs weapons and shields and put them into your Mamba? ;)

No need what with engineering being such a breeze.

The Mamba's a serious contender for best ship in the game, I think some people just got over used to the FDL over the last few years and are struggling to adapt.

I do not see mamba as a "best battle ship". In my view, for her to receive this title, I would need to enter a combat zone and I could stay 1 hour or more without dying and still be able to fight with any ship that is there!

Frontier has not only to revert the speed nerf, but also the boost nerf. Mamba 1.0 was great in beta, although a bit hot, but Mamba 2.0 is a POS.

CZ matches don't last that long. I did three back to back elite wing pirate massacres in a mamba with no shield cells used and one stop for reloads.

My mamba's faster shootier and more heavily shielded than my FDL.

What I was trying to say is that my Hauler is also more heavily shielded than my Cutter if I don't put a shield generator into the latter.

The Mamba's base shield strength is lower than the FdL's, so the Mamba will always have lower shield strength if you put the same set of shield generator and shield boosters in it. If your Mamba has stronger shields than your FdL that's only because you equipped it with a better set of shield generator/boosters.

This combined with the smaller availabe internal compartments for shield cell banks sets the Mamba back for a non-negligible margin.

I know I pretended not to understand as you can outfit anything as badly as you like.

The shield isn't an issue for me at all, I find they hold up better could be the flatter front profile meaning it takes less hits front on. Or the fact I'm scooping mats a lot as I just engineered it so the shields get recovery time. Closing the gap just on throttle is really easy on boost its crazy.

It flies like an interceptor very fast but a little less maneuverable. The huge hardpoint having an arc that's constantly available gives it a massive damage advantage over the FDL.

My only gripe is I keep getting fined for reckless flying but that's pebcak.

”one of the fastest ships in production”

It's slower than a Cobra, a Viper, a Hauler.

The only thing it has going for is how fast it takes to boost again after a boost.

It is one of the fastest ships and it can easily do it with a full wep/shield loadout that carries more sting than an FDL. Which doesn't really apply to any of the ships you mentioned.

In terms of combat ability its right up there with the FDL, it does it differently though. Which is a good thing after three years of FDL'ing its nice to have a viable alternative that's just as good.

This. I have stuck mine in the garage after a pretty frustrating weekend in her. Got back into my Krait and it felt so damn good.

To be honest if they went all out and made it rotate and thrust better i would be much happier. Im not too bothered about crazy top speeds.

exactly. The speed does not help if you can not keep the fire on the enemy and what's the use of passing and shooting and running if this "burst" is not "so" efferent ?! I prefer you to improve the maneuver and a little speed it warms up!

Mamba looks good but agility and speed needs a buff.

otherwise what's the point of this ship ?

Edit: Maybe even another class 1 internal

I also found that the weapons on the ship heat it up really quickly compared to the FDL, with a similar weapon setting!

Do you think they got the star scoping and weapons heat mixed up? Because I am telling you now, the Mamba is a complete waste of a ship at the moment... Went back to my FDL! AGAIN!!!

Mine has a frosted canopy most of the time. Its a really cool running ship have you flown it since it went live or is this a recycled complaint from an older game version ?.

I'm running twin beams in both. Medium FDL large in the Mamba. The FDL heats up faster same engineering on all the beams.
