Manipulating Trade through BGS

Hi all,

So like most of us that post in here, im sure that we have all done a fair bit of research in to exactly how the BGS works, etc. I was able to cause a [Public Holiday] in my factions owned system, and prices for foods and beverages skyrocketed. I was able to get the 'Sale Price' for wine (Galactic Avg 400+-) to over 4000+ Credits. Wine, Liquor, Tobacco, and nearly all Food items increased nearly 1000 % during this time. I was making over 4 Mil profit per run in my Type 9 - just moving the Wine.

Intentionally so? Because that's the bit that's really not been researched enough yet.

But yes, it's got some nice multipliers on a range of goods.
I have not been able to pin point what I am doing that is triggering the [Public Holiday] but this is the third time I have been able to get it to happen. I am trading during a [Boom] state, and keep the overall happiness for my faction at the highest level [Elated].

I believe that it is a combination of delivering mined goods, or goods not purchased at the station, and also making deliveries of multiple goods from other systems simultaneously. Each time, I remove a step in the process, to see if anything changes, but thus far, I have not found the exact trigger.

Trading certainly seems to be an important aspect - though factions without a starport can sometimes get Public Holiday, so it can't be the only way to do it - and busy systems tend to have it happen for station owners a lot.

According to Frontier, Trade also causes Pirate Attack - are you (or someone else) also doing bounty hunting to avoid that happening?

What sort of system population (no need for exactness if you want to stay anonymous) and traffic levels do you have? Roughly how many days are there between consecutive Public Holidays?
