General Gameplay Marine DLC Idea:Beneath the Surface Part 2

Your Feature Request / Idea
This is a continuation of my previous thread, the Marine DLC Idea, which tackles on the gameplay side.

Possible Achievements:
-It's got 88 teeth! - Release a Mosasaurus.
-They're moving in shoals/schools. They do move in shoals/schools. - Have the maximum social count of Ichthyosaurs in the same enclosure.
-Is that a shark?!? - Have an escaped dino into the open ocean.
Note: I only have these 3 atm. Any additional achievements that you guys can think of is appreciated

How will water be implemented?
Let's try to imagine that we already have a park on one of the islands, with the beautiful sky overhead. Now lets imagine placing a very wide bluish transparent layer over our park. Essentially the park will be below that layer. That layer would be the surface of the water. Now the space below that layer can then be tinted blue & given some water or light shaft effects to give the illusion of being underwater. Everything above that "water layer" would be the new surface environment. So voila! Water!!!

How will the dinos move in the water?
The same way how the devs programmed the ACU helis to fly about in the air. If you can notice, there is a limit as to how high the ACU heli can go up, that is the Z-axis, since its 3-dimensional. If the devs apply that, and combine that with the dino AI, then we have marine dinos that move in water, just more naturally & smooth than the ACU heli.

How will we see the dinos underwater while viewing it from the surface?
The devs can introduce a toggle which enables 2 modes:
1. Surface Mode - You view your park as it is from the surface. Enabling this prevents the player from clipping beneath the surface layer. This can be helpful when taking screenshots from the surface.
2. Subsurface Mode - Disables the water layer, & gives the player complete visibility of their park from the surface, enabling subsurface mode also allows players to zoom in, since the water layer is disabled. Players will be spending most of their time using this mode.

What will be the dinos needs?
It'll be food, swimming space, social & population.

If their needs are properly met, will they still get agitated?
Yes.They still get agitated from time to time for xx-amount of time, the same way as their land counterparts.
Why?
There's no sense of dread or challenge if they dont try to break out, or at least damage their enclosure. Gameplay would be boring if they wont do anything but just swim around.

What will make them agitated?
If their needs are not met, or when there's storms.

How about Aquatic Sandbox?
Aquatic Sandbox retains the same changeable settings as its land counterpart.

Moved to the Jurassic World Evolution Discussions Forum.
The Ideas & Feature Requests forum are meant for asking only one idea per thread, therefore I moved your thread.

You've put a lot of time and thought into this and the concept art is fantastic!

- it seems like this concept requires new, special maps built specifically for the marine stuff. Can we not place the marine exhibits in a standard dinosaur park? Wouldn't being able to mix & match the exhibits be better?

- What challenges do the aquatic animals bring to the table? They have fewer need requirements than dinosaurs. Easier to please? What havoc can they cause?

Silly achievement ideas:
Crowd-pleaser - release a Plesiosaurus.
A Mega-attraction - release a Megalodon.

If there was a new option added to landscaping that let us create deep water, as opposed to the usual shallow pools of water, this kind of thing could be implemented in the current locations. Heck, you could possibly even be able to mix the terrestrial dinosaurs and the aquatic creatures like the mosasaurus in the same enclosure. It would be amusing seeing a dinosaur go for a drink of water when a mosasaurus leaps out and invites them to dinner.

Actually, if we use Sea World as inspiration, there is one way to possibly combine the feeding station and the viewing area. Attached to the body of water the creature lives in would be this stadium, where the aquatic dinosaur would enter occasionally to be fed in front of guests. Leaping out of the water to grab a shark for instance, like in the movies. This is also possibly where trouble could brew if your creature isn't happy. Rather than grab its snack, it may decide to try to attack the people instead.

We still want more done to the regular animals. Imagine how long we would wait for the further behavior additions if they start on aquatics. We'd probably never get any.

I'm worried that they try adding in water/flyers that people ask for a thousand times a day for some reason. If they do, I hope people are happy with a tacked on feature, maybe deep water terrain addition, then go back to really getting the dinosaurs right.

If this will ever become a thing in the future and Tylosaurus is in it, an anchievement for it could be:

'Devil from the deep' - Release a Tylosaurus (Reference to Telltales Jurassic Park: The Game)

Thank you for creating these kind of threads! They are awedome! By "these", I mean, of course, taking into consideration your 1st DLC idea.

Thanks, glad you liked it. This is actually part 2 of my idea, which deals with the possible achievements & how the DLC can be implemented, while part 1, the thread you linked, concerns the buildings & attractions. :) They may be separate, but both are actually just 1 idea split into 2.

A new achievement could be Signal Lost. Referring to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom at the prologue when Jack (the guy in the yellow raincoat) holds the tablet that says "Signal Lost". He then proceeds to try to contact them. This achievement could be when a submarine gets eaten or broken by a sea creature.

Heres my achievement
"is that a dolphin" take a picture of an ichthyosaur jumping out of the water
" good shot" trank an ichthyosaur
