Mascot Creator

Hi,

My new suggestion of the day, about a tool that could be fun : A "Mascot Creator" to have unlimited possibilities for mascots.
(yes, another "modular tool" suggestion, because it's the best way to make things in a game like this, and it's soooo 2016 [big grin] !!!)

So, a "Mascot Creator", just like in the game "Spore", with many "animals" body parts (like head, eyes, arms, legs, tails, etc...) as a working basis :

With differents color style, like this :

The advantage is that all use the same animations (as it's always the same skeleton, and always an "humanoid") but we could have our own unique mascots, for each park we make.

Oh, and also, the opportunity to upload our own body parts (for 3D modelers/modders)

This would be a really nice feature. It would be really cool if there are two different in-build customization/asset creator. The first is like the one in this thread: for employees. Not only mascots, but also uniforms for security and engineers etc.
The second asset creator will be for buildings and coasters (Again like the one in Cities:Skylines).

Things will be immediately available in your parks (and maybe even in Workshop if Steam is supported)

Oh ! I had not even thought about this.

It's a great idea. [up]

Yes.

Like I said in another topic, if we got a very good "Building Tool", we dont even need prefabs, and when I say "dont need" it's for absolutely NO building.

I could make restrooms if I want (by making the walls, add toilets and sinks), publish in the good category ("restrooms" in my exemple) and all players on the planet could use my restroom (or any other "player made" restroom). And this could work for all buildings (restaurants, shops, rides, coasters). We can sort by "price" (depending on the type and number of modular elements used) by size (small, medium, large) or by popularity.

So yes, of course, the dev team can make some "buildings" to have something at launch. But with this, we could have any unlimited numbers of available buildings, not just a few tens of prefabs.

(developers, if you read me [rolleyes])

Great ideas, and mascots and can go through theme parts and attract,or maybe make some festival like in Disneyworld...

I agree, this is an excellent idea! [up]

It would be nice if the building tool would also provide a way to indicate a surface as a sitting area for peeps, so they will actually use it to sit on in the game. That way you could make them sit on a bench, but also on wall or something (e.g. like a low stone wall around a fountain).

I think spore creature creator is a bit too far fetched, but i'd like a create-a-sim type view for employees and mascots, without the actual creation of sim, but only the clothing part.
We can get custom outfits from the steam workshop and recolor them with a few provided choices.

This way we can enjoy a lot of mascots and employees but the burden of development will be more on the community than the game developers.

Yes, of course. It's not the same game. It's just the closest I've found to explain the idea. [big grin]

It's nice to have a community, (and personally, I always happy to give my time and technical skills for games that I love) but it's to the developers to provide "multiple tools" that the players can easily use.

If the community does something other than small jobs like : New textures, new 3D custom scenery, etc ... that mean that something is wrong with the game, and we need more "tools".

Looks like we'll be getting Gulpee, Pirate King, Coaster King, and two more mascots to be revealed in the game at launch. I'm assuming their names will be changed later.

Is it not just to show that they can be "many" ?

I mean, this picture does not show that there can be only 6 boys for example, but a very large number . No ?

Elements of the bodies appear to be modular

Could be and we could always see more as well, but this is one detail we do not know just yet! [mouth shut]
