Mass Effect: Andromeda

Irritating. Said it earlier but some gameplay would have been nice over presenting another hypey show flip all trailer.

I guess it'll come but I'm getting a funny feeling on this one now that it's going to be like the trailers...all hype. Little substance.

The months leading to Mass Effect 3 were full of live action / cinematic hype trailers one after the other.

Nothing wrong with that, but I was hoping for some actual game info, or actual gameplay.

"Captured in engine. Representative of game experience"
Now I'm not a game developer or anything... But if something is captured "in engine" and not in game, how can that really be representative of the actual GAME?

Either way, trailer was a little meh in my honest opinion. Too much action and too little ambient exploration.

Footage captured "in engine" isn't always representative - it may be captured at higher resolution than will ever be in the release version, or contain elements that don't appear in the game. I guess they are inferring that this is not the case and the footage is "representative" of the actual experience (hmm, so why not just say "authentic in-game footage").

I'm not expecting great things from this title.

I really hope they don't do a carbon-copy of the story from the original trilogy here. Bioware couldn't have engineered a cleaner break by going to an entirely new galaxy! It would be a shame to waste that on a Saren/Reaper rehash. I guess we'll see. This trailer isn't exactly illuminating about such issues, nor have any new game play details been released yet. I guess we'll see if anything else is forthcoming today.

Yep, I agree. I really hope that they don't go down that path.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
I can see it now: You're 600 years out from Earth, in an entirely new galaxy; yet, all aliens are bipedal humanoids who conveniently use standard ammo clips, medpacks, and 'credits' in their shops. ;)

Ok, I'm being deliberately harsh. I love ME and I'm still very much looking forward to this one.

No actually, you're quite right.
It's called maintaining consumerist state of mind.
