Modes Master Griefer List

Lol!

The only way to make three minutes is if you completely give up on fighting and just go evasive the whole time. It can indeed be done, but not likely when actually fighting. At least that’s how it was in testing with Arguendo. Lemme see if I can find a vid. He became an expert at evasion towards the end.

Suppose it might work with mines, just evasive flying and leaving mines all over the place.
Maybe worth a test at some point?

Either way, I gather you’d agree on the clear and substantial advantage engineering provides, no?

Oh your ship is powerful, there is no arguing that. And in 1 on 1 you had the advantage.
But the 2 on 1 showed that RNGneers didn't boost you to take on multiple ships.

And as we were talking about "in the wild", how often do you randomly get a 1 on 1 in open?
Because from what I read here and on Reddit, if there is someone going about killing traders (for example), if a player bounty hunter turns up the killer either runs for help or runs and hides (mode switch or block the bounty hunter).
So I still don't see how Engineers is any sort of "barrier to PvP" in Open Mode - as a couple of folks can team up in none engineered ships and go chasing down other players quite happily.
And even in an Engineered ship, you'd be daft in Open to try and PvP alone.

It helps though, definitely helps. Even a bit of cheap low tier would help. Like putting 2 frags on a Vulture, I couldn't do that and have SCBs at the same time.
But with a tweak from the right Engineer you can. So I'd say Engineers opens up more options for PvP, but isn't necessary.

Agree to disagree then. Either way now people can come to their own conclusions based on a little evidence and a template for them to reproduce should they so desire.

Aye.

Would be nice to see a really skilled PvP player run in my config and see how well they do.

It never ceases to amaze me how EvE has left so many people psychologically scarred. There is something very sinister about making a 'list' of players as suggested

Believe it or not there's actually a kill on sight list on reddit of combat loggers that includes people who just exited the game via the menu, which is truly bonkers. It's moderated by some people who got caught using the 5-1 cheats as well, which is much worse than clogging as we all know the sheer level of hypocrisy is amazing.

I'm glad I can opt out of allowing them in my game.

both of these things come down to Frontiers failure to address cheating of any variety. Combat logging, credit exploits, and so on. Why the engineering thing was actionable but credit exploits not, well it just doesnt make sense. Both of which offer an advantage over those who don't cheat.

It wasn't FDEV's fault nobody has to cheat, it's all down to individual choice for example I reset my account on launch day because I thought money had been game-breakingly easy to accrue during gamma. Thankfully nobody has to play with cheats either, even if the cheats do keep a list of people they claim used the one cheat they consider bad.

Which begs the question whats the purpose of an attack on sight list of players known to log out when attacked, it seems somewhat self defeating to me.

Woah are these people lame..

As much as I like Reddit, some sub Reddit threads can be a cesspool or just an echo chamber.
To be fair, the Mods over on Reddit do a good job of keeping things in order though, the list I've seen is archived now so no new names can be added.

Though I believe Code or SDC keep a KOS list on their website (not sure which one, will check).

The main Elite sub reddit has the same name and shame rules as the forums do. No combat logging videos there.

There is a separate sub reddit that is dedicated to combat logging videos.

Thanks again for the answers! I do plan on getting gud and not worrying about getting blown up, although from what I read about modding / Engineers the path for that is a bit grindy.

Thanks again!

The best part is you don't really have to be gud, just halfway competent. It is not that hard to get away from another CMDR. There are fringe cases where ship class and such spells doom but most people complaining about being ganked did not respond appropriately. They just shout about it on the forums instead of learning how to avoid it.

I didnt realise this lame thread exists, why is this not in DD?

Griefer list lmao, blocking doesnt work 100%, and why would you come to OPEN anyway, stay in SOLO OP, open is gankers PG, so you might get banned if you dont follow the rules.

Dont get them in Mobius. Although watching a CMDR entagled on the toast rack in a Cutter was amusing the other night. Watching them try to enter the dock and land had me in fits. Thanks whoever that was. Made me giggle as lets face it, we've all been there at some point. I swear they were more than 2 sheets to the wind. Been on the onions I reckon. I had to wait a while till they untangled before I could dock and my timer was running down, but it was worth the 'grief' in lolz.

Sick of it.

I seriously got interdicted by <Redacted> while flying an UNARMED anaconda flying towards the Liz Ryder engeneer station and blow up. All for him to say “thanks” in a message. I lost 1.2 million credits worth of land mines and was forced to pay for a 10 million credit rebuy.

Sorry for your loss.

Didn't you see them on the scanner?

Great necro.

If your general level of awareness matches that of this post, you probably deserved the rebuy.

What makes you think it's OK to go around unarmed anyway?

Seems to me, <Redacted> taught you a valuable lesson.

It’s called max jump anaconda kid. Seeing as this is your reply I’m sure you are a trash player too sitting outside engeneer stations greifing other players.

No I was focusing on lining up to drop on the planet.

That's easily rectified for the next time then. When in Open (especially flying anything without defences), here's the order in which you watch things:-

1. The scanner for open squares.
2. The scanner again, to check there's not open squares.
3. Quick glance at the scanner to check for open squares.
4. Everything else.

Good luck next time.
