'match enemy speed' button made to toggle on/off

i get why you're mad bro.. i see that happening all the time, but it's because of trolls our friend was charging me... i understand to many i might at first seem like a troll... i don't write on threads just because of trolls and people who become aggressive if they disagree.. but in this case he was under the impression i'm a troll so he said what he needed to say i guess... the way i see it, either i'm wrong and made a mistake thinking such a key exists or i can satisfy the curiosity of a few in this thread with the screenshot.
Look, don't worry about it. I am a bit of an old timer here and can normally pick a troll post straight away. Your post was not a troll post, not in any way shape or form. Some here just like to remind everyone how superior they are to everyone else :D

I just hope this hasn't put you off the forums, they can be a lot of fun and informative at the same time. Just learn to ignore the idiots, makes things a lot easier lol

Good luck Commander, fair trails ...

Lets look at the posting chain shall we?

His first response, not bad

Now he starts getting aggressive. I suspect by now Commander Florenus actually knows the answer but instead of helping out a newbie, wants to 'teach him a lesson'

Getting a lot more aggressive

Finally admits he knows the answer, congratulations you certainly proved your vast knowledge of the game over a newbie.
I'm more and more inclined to add you to Ignore option.

He claimed there's that option. Told me to find it.
In similiar fashion I can tell you to find "activate space legs" option in keybindings. Go and look for it. Tell me when you find it.

I simply told him to provide me the proof, as I could have been wrong (maybe there was this option all along and I missed it??? or maybe that's a console thing?). Not likely, but I wasn't going on goose chase because someone told me to.
I was also curious what option could he mistaken for "match speed".

Oh no, you are threatening to put me on the naughty list, what am I to do …. except carry on like nothing has happened, won't effect me in any way so go ahead.

Why couldn't he have said instead 'Sorry you might want to check again, I know the bindings quite well and have never seen that option"
But yes, it is much more fun to jump on any newbie here to show just how damn smart you are.

Yeah I am p... off, lately most first time posters are just trolls having a whinge, but when one actually takes the time to post something other than a 'I hate FD, I quit the game' it becomes a test on who can belittle the newbie first.
Instead of telling others what they ment and what they suppose to say, maybe you concentrate on yourself? You're probably the most toxic poster here.

Exactly!! Thanks for understanding.

IMHO speeds in the fights are way too dynamic for this to really make sense, at least against anything with higher Rank.

So while it might have some benefit i.e. for Keyboard Users or Players very new to the Game, it'd very quickly lose any Utility.

Plus, there's speed regimes where a "match" just isn't possible (i.e. other Ship type is simply faster or Boosting).

Forgot one important Detail that'd speak against it :

- own Ship's optimal agility is primarily bound to center-blue zone and unique per Ship type, equipment and Engineering state

So having i.e. your slower Anaconda or Python try to match speed against a faster NPC Chieftain or similar fast vessel, that toggle would essentially cripple your own agility - simply due to the function often pegging the Ship speed to its maximum, causing a severe maneuvering disadvantage due to being in a very unfavorable speed regime most of the time (far away from optimal turn speed [corner velocity in FlightSim terms] blue zone).

In that regard, the function could easily be highly detrimental to combat success IMHO.

I wonder if the OP is talking about 'Boost'? Otherwise I can't think of anything that does what he is talking about...
SCA did cross my mind, but that appears to be out of context...

Worth waiting for the screen grab to find out :)

You could be right about the boost button, I just spent 10 minutes going through every option available (found a couple I didn't know were available, for minor things like the store etc lol) and can't find anything like the OP is talking about. I hope it is the boost button as I didn't get the impression the OP was trolling, he seemed to be asking a legitimate question.

As I said previously, don't worry about it mate. If you made a mistake, you have already done the right thing by admitting you may have made a mistake, some here are incapable of doing that. Believe me, no one is going to take you to task over something you were unsure of. Well most of us won't anyway lol
