'match enemy speed' button made to toggle on/off

I dont use them, but arent there keybindings which reduce power by 50% or by other amounts. He’s probably using those.. to be fair, there are so many functions, i havent got a clue about many of them, i just use what i need...

You could be right about the boost button, I just spent 10 minutes going through every option available (found a couple I didn't know were available, for minor things like the store etc lol) and can't find anything like the OP is talking about. I hope it is the boost button as I didn't get the impression the OP was trolling, he seemed to be asking a legitimate question.
My first thought was that OP was thinking of the FA keybind, but it didn't quite fit because that actually can be switched between toggle and hold nodes.

im not trolling guys i may have mixed up the key with something else... please forgive me if i did... its taking forever for my update to finish... net in my country is a joke...
We're quite certain you mixed it up with something else. We're curious what.

If you're claiming there's something others say there isn't - you need to provide a proof, not the other way around.

Ok you were right i made a stupid mistake.... this ability isn't there in elite.... its in Star Citizen... i had a brain fart really sorry guys... i mistook the bindings on SC with that of Elite... havnt played both games in a while due to work issues and was downloading today so i could play again... Then again, since we dont have this key maybe having it could help players like me...

Early on in the game's development Mike Evans was clear that Frontier did not want players using aids (e.g. HUD arrow to target, etc.) when engaging in combat. Match speed would be one of those aids.

Hi, this is my first time posting on the forum so bear with me.

Wouldn't it be helpful if the ability/key to match enemy speed when dogfighting was not by holding the button? Wouldn't it be better if we cud toggle it on or off?? I think having the option to choose between press n hold and toggle on/off will really help the gameplay as well as increase game immersion. What does everyone else think?

Didn't even know there was a match enemy speed binding? Isn't that what we have throttle for?

Thing is, in Elite it does not really matter that much compared due to the flight model to match speed with the target, since you move along multiple axis all the time, matching speed would mean you fail to get into a better position. Lateral thrusters play a much higher role with positioning, as well as putting your strong axis (pitch) against your opponents weak (yaw). There is also the reverski, if you want to give up maneuvering and facetank.
In Star Citizen you have a simpler flight model with less inertia, so tailing an opponent is easier, where you matching the speed is the most important, more similar to the old Wing Commander and X-Wing games.

So says a Triple Elite Player lol

Look if someone wants to use it, let them, don't put barriers up, don't look down on people just because they might take an option you don't like. If something like this 'match speed' button helps a new player who is stuck using a KB&M, then damn, let them use it.

Half the PvP community are KBaM as relative mouse is far more precise than what is offered by using a stick.

luckily, I am not a PvP player then cos I could not think of anything worse than using KB&M for this game. I love using my HOTAS system, to me it add immersion and a sense of reality to the game. I like I can fly an entire mission and not take my hands of the throttle and stick, but that is just me, each to their own right.

Best troll ever. Still crying from laughter.
I wasn't trolling, if you look at most of the PvP videos from likes of Rinzler etc, you'll see the little arrow on their screen indicating they are using relative mouse controls.

I play in VR and fly twin-sticks and flight assist off, because of the flight assist off I cannae really take my hands off the sticks, and yeah the immersion is great.

I look down on you for saying this.

I'd quite like a match speed for out-of-combat.
Formation flying, in both supercruise and thruster flight mostly.
Sure, I could see some nice QoL synergies between the wing nav-loc mechanism and the new supercruise assist module. "Maintain formation" is a considerably more complex proposition in normal space, considering the 6 dof flight model.
