Nothing new, they again start adding more gameplay hours with grind.
The fact that god roll are not RNGesus anymore and secondary effect can be chosen as special effects are great enhancement to engineers.LOL, that's all I can really say. Seriously, what did anyone expect? Did you expect good things from the RNGineer change, really? It was bad in the first place for a reason; the change is bad or will be bad for a reason. Nothing changed with those that make the changes. Enough said.

It has even been mentioned a few times, in this thread, this change is for patch 3.0.3 and that we are still on patch 3.0.2

Forcing people to go from G1 --> G5 was ok because of material/data traders, but the fact that G4/G5 takes so many rolls and/or G4/G5 are hard to collect is bad.
A few tweak to that and Engineers are great.
Just read all the current data for 3.0.3. Nada on data/material changes. Just seems that data is already at 1 per, with data points respawning after mode switch. Will talks about issues and he is saying, that it is working as intentend -》 actual content and not future content.
I guess he said material an meant data, as the data is sometimes also called as material. Or have you seen an Databroker? ;-)
We are talking about materials, not data.I maxed out my MEF a while back just by doing Planetary Scan Missions that pay (5) of those as a mission reward. That is in addition for whatever data I pick up when I scan the beacon on the planet.
I also picked up a bunch of these from those A to B cargo transport missions that always deal with 180t of cargo. Those either pay a high CR total or (5) MEF or Ex Focus Crystals. I have also maxed out my capacity for those as well.
Maybe focus on getting these another way?
We are talking about materials, not data.
In addition not all G4/G5 materials can be acquiered from missions.
For instance all G5 High Grade Emission materials can only be acquiere in HGE... nowhere else.
Many materials where fun to get at lost site, like Dav's Hope or Anaconda crash site...
They could have increased materials reward from mission and from mega ship if they wanted to make them competitive...
But they like to increase grind and code new money exploits (currently free money to newbies and Destroy mission exploit

Did the devs and designers actually play their own game; engineered their own ships from ground up and determine that this is intended? Or some arbitrary number pulled out of a hat?![]()
Sadly can't give rep again, for now only virtual one! Have similar experience ...I was responding to this:

And most of the posts seemed to be talking about MEFs.
What material is exclusive to Settlements? I have every material available in the game in good quantities and I have never done a Settlement mission in my life.
I'd place a blind bet on the latter
PS.
I have an idea for a Livestream :
Take the Designer of the Materials Distribution and Mat Traders to the controls.
Then task the guy to farm just 30 Datamined Wake Exceptions or 30 MEFs. He can use the Mat Trader of course. Should be easy, right?![]()
