Material Traders

Hey guys and gals. I've been waltzing around the Pleiades and haven't noticed any material traders out here. Are there any?

Cheers!

They seem to be pretty scarce across the bubble... I happened to find one manufactured materials trader near Deciat.

I'll also say that they are very hard to see with the updates to the galaxy map.

IIRC, a station needs a population of over one million to be eligible for a trader, aside from other requirements like a certain economy type, security and so on.

If one is not opposed to third party tools, here is this:

https://inara.cz/galaxy-nearest/25/

Searchable based on location, and updates based on current populations, economy and security states.

THANK GOD for that tool!

The Services Filters in the GMAP are still as of the 3.03 update, so without INARA we would all be screwed!

And since the OP has likely already headed over to the page and looked for traders out there in the Pleiades, I don't need to tell them that Traders are only found in "High Population" areas. Which generally means, you won't see these guys in the more remote sectors of the Galaxy.

Now I know. [yesnod] [up]

Note: this is the normal requirement, but has been waived in certain cases - the Colonia Council has been able to attract one of each type of trader to the Colonia region, despite no system there having a population over 500,000.

It's possible that there are similar exceptions out in the Pleiades ... Frontier said that there would be some out there in the patch notes, but Inara doesn't list them and they'd presumably have been found by now if they were obvious. Perhaps they're in some of the damaged stations, and won't be available until repairs are completed - a manual check of the "disabled services" list of damaged stations might be necessary in that case.
